So my band, we put out a new song just awhile back, called Sing What You Learn [ To Die By]. It took me a good while to make.. I know some things are off, like tone and vocally. But overall, i think its pretty good for a teenage band! : ]

If you could go to https:www.myspace.com/7thplace and listen to that song for me, I would be very thankful. Please tell me what you think. All constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Oh, and in common courtesy, I'd be more than willing to give critique back on your work. : ]

The song has potentially. Musically the direction is right and I think you even have the right idea in your head about the vocals. The problem is that the singer isng't singing in the right range for the song. Actually, he's not really singing in any range. Get him to work on the vocal part. You need a more expansive range of notes to express the melody. The only other problem I see is some of the general production. The distorted guitar in the beginning needs to be fit into the mix with some EQ and it needs compression. It probably wouldn't hurt to double/quadruple track it either and pan it hard left/right. Make the whole song feel like a 3d area rather than a 2d canvas.

I see you also play under the Crunk/Funk/Punk label. That's enough to make me want to check it out but myspace isn't working for me right this second.

My band is here http://www.myspace.com/fu.ckandroideighteen (minus the dot) I'll be sure to check this out when it will actually play.

Not as crunky/funky/punky as I hoped but the singing was awesome.
