My buddy wants to trade his for some high hats that I never use. I got an Akira Jimbo snare from him in the past. The reason that he gave me for wanting to get rid of it is that his bandmates didn't like it. This is the same reason he wants to get rid of the Chad Smith besides wanting the hats. I don't have experience whith the Chad Smith and was wondering how others like it. Personally I don't think my buddy knows how to tune a drum. I have a hard time telling him that since he is a more advanced drummer than I am. (In the past he has dismissed my Ideas and suggestions because of the level of drumming he is at or feels he is at)
Are they easy to tune? Have a good range? ect.ect.

Sabian 12 inch Tony Verdosa. I bought them used for $150. He plays that style more than I do and I like hats that have more swish to them not so staccato.

They're sabian.... just small and sig .. like phil said .. i personally woudl try to find a way to work teh second set of hats into my kit, .. if you have an akira jimbo snare, your set, .. youdont need a chad smith.

I agree with Abandon. The Akria Snare owns the Chadsmith on. And two hats are always alot of fun.

Haha neither snare owns either.
Totally different drums and sounds.
I personally like having a wide range of snare sounds to choose from. Sounds like a pretty even trade. I'd go for it.

If you don't use the hats why not? Theres no problem having a couple snares.

I really like those hats. I've never tried the Chad Smith snare though.
I did hear a local drummer at a show once and he was using it, he cranked the hell out of it and it was loud.

I'm convinced it's they way he tunes his snares. Anyway, I made the trade and found atleast 2 tunings that I already like to play with. He was thrilled to get the hats and he makes them sound much better than I do. He can play them faster and with a lighter touch. Thanks for everybodys input.
