This may be a noobish question, but what is the point of double clamping a tom? Heres a picture.

Does it help balance the weight or something?

Id imagine so that it doesnt put too much pressure on just a single clamp, but i think it could alos be for looks and to get that bass a virgin ;)

That would be two toms though. Look at the bottom. They are definatly two. I mean the ones on the left also

Those toms don't look double-clamped to me...two toms above the bass with one clamp each on the side, two mounted "floor" toms, each with one clamp.

He's referring to two clamps holding each of the single tom posts, I believe.

The double clamping would be to keep the post from getting bent and to add extra stability to the arm.
