Lucky bastards. While we God forsaken infidels are lucky if we get a lump of coal in our stockings you get eight gifts for each night of your holiday, which begins today. I'm lucky if I get four or five on Christmas. And its usually sweaters and socks :-\. Although my Jewish neighbors used to bring me a plate of food every night for Hanukkah, I think they just felt sorry for me. And on the last day of Hanukkah their 17 year old daughter got a leased BMW. Some people have all the luck. :(

But us ordinary Christians will not be deterred. Even if we will never see the promised land with our holier brothers and sisters. So, what do you want for Christmas? What did you ask for? And in spite of it all, what do you think you are getting? We only get one day, so I know its tough. But we'll cram it all in somehow. :(

As for myself, I have no idea. My family is so bad at gift giving I tell them what I want, and in spite of it all I get the same goddamn crap every year. So, what are you hoping for, anticipating, or wishing for? Christmas is but 10 days away and I'm feeling weary.

I don't really like the present-giving part of Christmas. I'd rather just spend time with my family without the pressure of having to figure out what to buy them. Then again, presents are nice to get.

I just asked for books or CDs, as usual. There isn't that much I really want except super expensive stuff like surround sound or a car, and I'm not going to get that.

I'll probably get my dad a book or two and some other thing, and my mom some clothes she asked for. I'm only getting presents for three of my friends. One's getting a Tom Wolfe novel, one's getting a funny tshirt, the other one I have no clue because she's a girl and I hate shopping for girls.

No, that's allegedly the date of his resurrection. Oh, and the star of Bethlehem was actually the moon and Venus aligning, as they do almost every year around Christmas time.

Also, there are several books that were "banned" from the Bible by the church, which detail Jesus' childhood, his "actual" relationship with Magdalene and apparently detail how he wasn't crucified. You'll never see them published though, because the acceptance of said books would be devastating to modern religion and everything it's entangled in.
