Ok, so I discovered this band a while ago. I heard a recommendation that if I like VU I would like them, so I downloaded some stuff and I liked it.

Really dreamy and mellow, sort of a precursor to '90s shoegaze stuff

Yeah, great group. I recently rented their DVD and they had some really cool, blue, hazy music videos. I particularly enjoyed 'Tugboat', but it has some personal sentimental value for me.

My favorite record of theirs is probably Today, it has a gorgeous cover as well.

Haha, I was just about to say Today was my favorite as well, though all three albums are stellar. They're an absolutely stellar band, and do indeed remind a lot of the VU's third album.

Apparently there's some recent lame French Canadian band using the same name. Didn't they google it beforehand or anything? It's a pretty distinctive thing to duplicate.

On Fire is probably my favorite album of theirs, but Tugboat is probably my favorite song. I've been listening to them a lot lately, I really really like them.
