I have it at school so I can get my hands on it ;)

i had a copy of it on my old computer, and it was a pretty sweet program. I barely used it though so i got rid of it.

Finale's more powerful, I believe.

finale has a better midi system i think, sounds more realistic especially the strings, decent vibrato
i only use it to compose or arrange maybe i'll get my a level coursework up later or something

I used it quite a bit my last 2 years in high school.
i use finale. havent tried sibelius but they just got it at school so ill have to check it out
I thought Finale MIDI was pretty bad.. I would hate to see what Sibelius sounds like.

Several things.
1) The notation program doesn't have anything to do with the MIDI output. That's your soundcard, not Sibelius or Finale.
2) Sibelius is definitively more powerful, and easier to use. While the latter function might be disputed, there really isn't any question in the professional world to which one is more powerful. It's also a good deal more expensive, I believe.
3) Yes. I use Sibelius.

I been wanting a copy of either this or Finale. :(
I am tired of using Mozart because it just sucks and is too much of a hassle; however, it is free, so I can't complain.

John Williams uses it... i guess that's good enough for me :p
i have it but use it rarely unless i'm composing some serious corsework, i find most compostional software very tedious and time-consuming...
maybe thats just me.

^Learning the keyboard shortcuts makes it all a lot less-so.

Again, thats all your sound card, or the MIDI modules you have. Nothing to do with the notation program itself.

ah ok

I have Powertab, Guitar Pro, and Finale on this computer and the MIDI sounds slightly different on each
Why would this be?

Different outputs. There usually is at least two different MIDI outputs on your run-of-the-mill soundcard.

Anyone know of where I can get it for free (torrents, etc.)? I'm using a Mac btw, does it run on Macs?
