Threadstarter, I have no idea what you just said, but I'll take it as an insult.

Flea did indeed do the bass for Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know"

As for the rest, I have not idea what you were trying to say.

Flea and Dave Navaro were on that song. I don't like Alanis Morrisette, but that song rocks :thumb:

the only "Free" song I know, is "all right now" if that's even the right band, or songtitle?

Heh I could name at least 15-20 of my most favorite bass players who are never mentioned on this forum... but oh well! Everyone has different tastes in bass players. Post some sound clips or do an FA or something if you want to get us interested in some new people!

one o my best mates dads bands supported free back in the day before anyone knew them,
supposedly they were all as out of it on drugs as the rest of the scene at that time
i think my mates dad was a dealer at that time, i really wouldnt be surprised
still
i read an interview with andy fraser recently in BGM
hes ended up all down to earth and not wanting much to do with how they used to be
weird huh:confused:
as for his bass playing
i was told to check it out by an old bass teacher
never did much for me :(

The solo in Mr Big was perhaps the biggest piece of **** ive ever heard.

i think is a solo which holds a lot of taste not much wrong with it keeps a groove, kept in key and doesnt change the texture of song but thats not every1's cup tea

i'll anounce andy fraser to blues/rock fans to check them out,he's good

also the lemon song 4 blues is ****ing great for bass inprov but b4 i get flamed it may not be a finger tapping slap bass harmonic double thump solo

i guess i should of made this a blues/rock bass forum thing

i thought that was way more people who liked the bass players named above

Well i really enjoy listening to Bruce, Jones and Entwistle, but Frasers playing just doesnt do it for me. His playing (on the more melodic/soloish stuff) seems awkward and empty.

And yes, we've all heard the Lemon Song, and no one ever said anything about, uh "finger tapping slap bass harmonic double thump" being necesary. You seem to think i dont like it becasue he doesnt do those things  Interesting.
