anybody like them? it's Ian Mackaye on a baritone guitar and vocals and some girl on drums and vocals. a much better guy guitarist/girl drummer duo than the white stripes.

it's way different from Ian's past stuff, because this is more light feeling, and more indie. it's still distinctively his style of guitar work and vocals, but yet a big change at the same time. it's just really simple and really good. search for them on myspace or something if you haven't heard them.

I like their new album, but I've never heard their old one.

The White Stripes comparison is baffling. Apples and oranges.

i wasn't really trying to make a legit comparison, i had just mentioned them to 2 people previously and after saying it's a girl on drums and a guy who plays guitar, i got "oh, so like the White Stripes."

and it's only apples and oranges if the apple that happens to be the White Stripes is rotten and crappy.

Pretty good from whats on their myspace. I'll have to check out one of their albums.

Possibly upload it into the album-trading thread?

Get Evens sounds good on first listen.

Their first album is OK, not great. I'll probably hear the new one someday. They're probably Ian Mackaye's weakest band.

The evens are very good. I just saw them in baltimore and it was one of the best shows i have ever been to. I plan on seeing them in dc again. I got to talk to Ian Mackaye for a while :)

Lucky. Did they say he nice? I know he can be a bit of an ego sometimes.

lol MacKaye and ego are two words that never should be near each other.
