OK, so I got bored and read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ampere_%28band%29
I noticed this:
Much like Orchid, Ampere (especially earlier albums such as "All our Tomorrows End Today") often borrow some of their intense lyrics from philosophers and revolutionaries such as Guy Debord. They have preserved some of the "intellectual" punk seen in bands like Orchid, Sinaloa, Native Nod, Current, and others.
So I looked up the band Current, since I've never heard of them:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_%28band%29
Has anyone heard their stuff? I love all the bands they mentioned (the "intellectual' punk" bands) so I figure Current may be pretty good.
Does anyone know anything about them or have any of their stuff?
Does anyone know if Ampere got their name from Current?
Also, is anyone but me stoked for the Ampere/Daitro split?

Saw Ampere about 3 weeks ago. Great band, one of my favorite screamo-esque bands.

I've heard Current are a good band.
Sweet Tarts are where it is at.
Also speaking of intellectual punk, I kept seeing Nietzchean thrown around with Orchid so much I bought a book a couple weeks ago about Nietzche, and it is really interesting, his theory of the Death of God and the Revaluation is what I'm currently reading.
