Hey, so my band, the Nectarines, just finished recording two tracks. I play bass, synthesizer, and piano on these tracks, though I consider myself to be a guitarist.

If you have the time, I'd really appreciate a review/critique. I'll return the favor- just ask.

If you have a myspace, feel free to add... or whatever.

Thanks again.

We Are Astronauts: a nice chill song, the production is better then i was expecting, everything is nice and level, and sounding nice, the singing is perfect for your sound, all the different parts go together, and fits, the ending is very nice tbqh, I don't really listen to this sort of music much so my opinion may not count too much, but for what it was, this song is very nice, really well done, i give it 7/10

lovgreen, similiar to the first but even more chill, everything i said about the first one pretty much applies here, this one has a nice waltzy feeling (3/4 bitches) though, it kind of feels like a really old song in parts, then that weird guitar melody comes in, just to feel weird, but it all fits strangely enough. The weird piano ending didn't seem entirely necessary though. I'd say I liked this song more so it gets an 8/10

overall well done, I can't really pick many flaws in your stuff, but if anything, it'd have to be that they're not exciting, this is just me personally, and i know you have your own style which is cool, but maybe having a few faster songs would be cool in the future. just a thought, doesn't really matter tbqh.

edit: oh and about that favour...

it'd be real cool if you could critique this, i've been hanging around here for a while waiting for someone to do it, but no dice.

LovGreen is a pretty nice song. It's pleasant sounding with good quality, but the part around 00:58 is kind of maybe too loud I guess. Otherwise it's a good.

We Are Astronauts isn't quite as good, but still not really bad. You guys remind me a tiny bit of the Great Lake Swimmers.

Thanks alot to both of you.

My drummer and I both really dig the Swimmers- they've got a great vibe going for them. I can't remember if our singer/guitarist ever got into them.

As for the volume, I was unsure about it while mixing. It felt a tad loud on the monitors, but I thought that it might be fine, as that's kind of the hook of the song. Listening to it on speakers with very little bass, it really needs that extra volume. But still- it's worth taking another look at.

I'll review your stuff some time this evening (or maybe tomorrow if I can't tought), evaworcim, as my only computer with both internet and speakers is in use right now.

Thanks again, guys.
