so I made a video. Now this video is nothing like the last one and the playing is actually decent (I guess). A few notes, my wrist looks like it is at an extreme angle, it isn't as bad as it looks, it looks like that because of the camera angle. Also I missed a few harmonics and didn't feel like doing another take.

myspace never works for me.

Hit refresh and it usually works. I tried uploading it to youtube but it kept saying that it was 0:00 long and wouldn't play, so I had to upload it to myspace.

Well... that was extremely unremarkable. Your 'timing' and dead harmonics kind of spoiled it.

However!

It was a progression from outright ****. So...maybe there's hope for you yet?

Sorry but it didn't sound good at all. Very boring and it went no where. Obviously it was just you fooling around, but still, it was very boring.

The critique on the forums is going to be harsh. Put some time and effort in what you're going to play and present, there will be a better reception that way. Just look like you're trying.

Opinions are not judgmental emotionally, it's how you express them that makes them mean. And for some people that just comes naturally.

Anyways, neither of the two links work for me :p

Do you guys have to be so freaking mean!? OK so you didn't like it, there's nothing else you need to say.

Look, you aren't a good person, you know it wasn't very good either. Get the hell off your moral highground and share your opinions HONESTLY.. BE YOURSELF. Christ.

Secondly, Lowsound has been known for spouts of arrogance, and I don't know about you, but arrogance is one of the worst things in a human being. If we told everyone, "we didn't like it. Keep at it!" what would the point of our opinions be? What could he take from that?

However, things like, "Harmonics put me off." - "Sloppy, dead harmonics." - This gives him a point to go focus on and practice with.

So, could you please, PLEASE, take a one way ticket OFF your fake little moral highground and come back to reality. Thank you.

I'd rather tell someone I honestly didn't like something than lie to them and saying it was great.

Lowsound, work on timing and technique. Your timing was pretty off and the technique was pretty sloppy. Keep practicing and you'll get it.

Here on the bass forum, we call this ^^ constructive critisism.

See how great it is? No lies, no fake morla highgrounds. People helping eachother out.

To be fair, I think people were being mean. But I don't disapprove. Lowsound has a history of being cocky, and he always can make excuses for why he sucks.

I would suggest more time working on a solid riff rather than noodling with harmonics. Try coming up with cool riff and trying to incorporate harmonics into it. Think solid :thumb:

There are different degrees of treatment to a cocky twot and a modest guy.

If a modest guy made that SAME video you can guarantee he'd get more smooth crit. So, people were being mena ni relation to Lowsounds persnoality, that's all.

Anyways, the crit was there regardless, he has somehting to take on board hwhether he want sto take it or not.

I love making videos, they are fun. Anyway, I suck because I never practice, nothing else. Put me with a drummer and I have impeccable timing, get compliments on it all the time, those comments usually go like this "You need to work on being less crappy, but your timing is amazing."

timing is a self conscious thing that you develop whether there is a drummer around or not, yes a drummer is a solid foundation for the rhythm but you should be aware of your own timing with or without a drummer. So keep practing and good luck :thumb: :thumb:

Cut the **** man. If you've got such insane time with a drummer, then use a drum machine when you record videos. Stop with the lame excuses.
