fret wire

How much of a difference in playing does the width of the fret wire make? I play an Epiphone electric which has the wide Gibson size wire but on the guitar I'm going to build I can get normal width for free. Does it matter much?

It's just all personal preference, play a few guitars and decide what you like yourself. :)
