Should be obvious enough.

Thanks Little Man for getting me into Ryan Adams.

And Feist should put out a new one soon because my Let It Die cd is worn out and I've listened to "Almost Crimes" a bajillion times on my iPod already.

So what do we do here? talk about Singer/Songwriters?

Regina Spektor is cool.

I don't get it.

I picked up The Sky is Too High by Graham Coxon the other week. It is okay, but I hear that the more recent stuff is better.

Mhm pretty much. It's also a *subtle* recommendations thread, cause I can't get enough of the two I've mentioned.

Someone tell me what's so good about Chad VanGaalen. I checked out his myspace and found the songs unmemorable.

I'm not a big fan of Chad Van Gaalen. Some songs were pretty good, but others were so meh.

Anyway, Phil Elverum, Karl Blau, Mark Kozelek.

I second the recommendation of Nick Drake and would like to throw in Ani DiFranco.

Chad VanGaalen is like.. really tone based.

Toby Driver has a solo project. :/

Happy, you should check out some Bruce Springsteen if you haven't already. Nebraska, Devils & Dust and Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. are more towards the singer/songwriter type style you're looking for. Nebraska especially.

This post is so wrong it hurts.

Listen to Nebraska. It's definitely not stupid pub-rock or whatever you think The Boss is.

Anyone here like Owen? I'm considering buying an album from him based on the 6 or so songs I've heard.

I've heard Nebraska and thought it was really dull. "Born to Run" is the only thing he's done that I've enjoyed at all.
I guess you can just go suck a lemon then you big pansy.

I know it's a little poppy for this forum, but what are the general sentiments towards Billy Joel and Elton John. Would they be appropriate for this list?

I'm not a big Billy Joel fan, but I really dig Elton John.

Kayetan

I don't really dig either, Paul. But I don't hate them or anything.

Also, Linda Perhacs and Jackson C. Frank.
