so i did one of these threads about a year ago, and its time for another
this is where you hear songs you might not have heard otherwise
and then talk about them
and how much they suck
heres a few from a band i like called Two Guys. think kinda like Maps and Atlases, but different vocals, when its not instrumental.
Two Guys - Beach House Hangover
Two Guys - Animal Trainers
Two Guys - Fantasies
here are three of my favorite songs from my favorite band (you guessed it)
Pinback - Anti-Hu
Pinback - Offline PK
i dont really know how to describe the mood here but i like it
Aqui - As The Blade Dips Down
heres a few songs from a band i like a lot, theyre called Thingy and they write quirky pop melodies i dunno they dont take their music seriously and thats part of the reason i like them a lot. their songs get stuck in my headddd and their cd's will have like 20-30 short songs, so ill go through phases where i'll have a particular cd on repeat and ill just keep listening to it from class to class or whatever im doing. i just dont really get bored of them... like ever.
Thingy - Revolution in a Box
Thingy - Plenty
Thingy - Mayday
Thingy - Cut
Thingy - Wave of Depression
heres a song from this japanese band called Rip Slyme, its muy fun
Rip Slyme - Super Shooter
i know 98% of you have heard this but it came up on shuffle and it reminded me how much i like it. here's Alec Eiffel by the Pixies because its my favorite Pixies song and maybe theres someone here who hasnt heard it
Pixies - Alec Eiffel
this is an atmospheric song, similar to Slint, one of those precursor to post-rock bands, called Three Mile Pilot. they played this style best easily in their 1991 album Chief Assassin to the Sinister. heres a song from that cd called X..Miner
Three-Mile Pilot - X..Miner
in honor of the Drive Like Jehu thread, here's that song i mentioned being my favorite song on Yank Crime. its called Luau and it crushes men
Drive Like Jehu - Luau
heres a surf rock band from the 60's called The Ventures. i got into em a few years ago and still love em, so heres a couple songs
The Ventures - Green Onions
The Ventures - Journey to the Stars
lastly here's the closer from this 40 track Nintendo remix album by Saskrotch, its in the same vein but it was the only original song of his, and i like it.
Saskrotch - In the Next Room Lies Our Destiny
well that'll do it for this one. enjoy :)
