After a night in fight club, everything in the real world gets the volume turned down. Nothing can piss you off. Your word is law, and if other people break that law or question you, even that doesn't piss you off.

You aren't alive anywhere like you're alive at fight club.... Fight club isn't about winning or losing fights. Fight club isn't about words. You see a guy come to fight club for the first time, and his *** is a loaf of white bread. You see this same guy here six months later, and he looks carved out of wood. This guy trusts himself to handle anything. There's grunting and noise at fight club like at the gym, but fight club isn't about looking good.

Let me here the whining sounds of a big drum
Lead me over summery hills, to a place I like to think about
And sedate me with Tylenol pills
Somehow I love to dream about

Drop me a line and pour me out
But do not find me amongst life underground
Let me see the burning down of my home town

So, guyz, should I sell my 60 gig iPod video and pull money out of my own pocket to buy the 160 gig iPod "classic?" Or just wait until my current iPod dies, and dish out all the money for a new one? Which might be cheaper by then...

Anxious
09-15-2007, 01:01 PM
I'm buying the 160 GB because

1.I have around 130-140GB of music already.
2.It has a 40 hour battery life, more than even the 80 GB classic.
3.It costs as much as the 80 GB did just two weeks ago.

I don't really see the prices for these going down any time soon, they're already dirt cheap. The 80 GB classic is now only 250. They're just making the way for the lame "touch" ipods which is perfectly fine to me since they don't seem to care about the other ones now.

Liebensaft
09-15-2007, 04:45 PM

1.I have around 130-140GB of music already.
2.It has a 40 hour battery life, more than even the 80 GB classic.
3.It costs as much as the 80 GB did just two weeks ago.

I don't really see the prices for these going down any time soon, they're already dirt cheap. The 80 GB classic is now only 250. They're just making the way for the lame "touch" ipods which is perfectly fine to me since they don't seem to care about the other ones now.:eek:that much music can't even fit on my computer

vinyl is definitally better. it lasts for decades. CDs usually degenerate after about 15-20 years. burned cds are considerably less years. its damn near impossible to find CDs from when they first came out cause most dont work anymore. but you can still find records in fine condition form 80 years ago.

only thing that sucks though is vinyl is getting more expensive. and so is shipping prices cause of gas. so overseas LPs especially and even 7"s a little are going up in price. sucks cause i love overseas bands. a little higher prices will never stop punx from putting out vinyl

i had a sony that worked awesome for the two years i had it, never had a problem but i treated it poorly and eventually that got the better of it. i'd buy another one but they don't really make any bigger ones, that was a 256 from when they first came out.

i disagree, vinyl will only last if you don't listen to it that often, my friends dad has been through three copies of london calling cause they played it so much it wore out. I don't think CDs have even been around long to know they don't last that long.

I have a The Cure cd I bought from a garage sale from around 1985. There is this little pamphlet it came with called "Caring for Your Compact Disc" and its fucking hilarious. The whole time its referred to as a Compact Disc, and instructs me to treat it "the same as I would any vinyl record". It also came in some weird plastic sleeve that I've never seen cd's in before.

I feel obligated to type this up now.

The Compact Disc Digital Audio System offers the best possible sound reproduction--on a small, convenient sound-carrier unit.

The Compact Disc's superior performance is the result of laser-optical scanning combined with digital playback, and is independent of the technology used in making the original recording.

In storing and handling the Compact Disc, you should apply the same care as with conventional records.

No further cleaning will be necessary if the Compact Disc is always held by the edges and is replaced in its case directly after playing. Should the Compact Disc become soiled by fingerprints, dust or dirt, it can be wiped (always in a straight line, from centre to edge) with a clean and lint-free, soft, dry cloth. No Solvent or abrasive cleaner sould ever be used on the disc.

If you follow these suggestions, the Compact Disc will provide a lifetime of pure listening enjoyment.

I'm really loving how they used the word "soiled".

as long as you only listen to a record once every 24 hours it should last for about 40-60 years. The problem is that if you listen to it more than once a day the grooves start to degrade thanks to the friction of the needle. It needs a "healing period" to last as long as it can.

Also, CDs will succumb to Bit Rot eventually, because the aluminum disc that makes up the CD will start to oxidize (thats why some expensive limited edition CDs have gold discs instead of aluminum.
