Yea you want to get one with a back because a)it's much more comfortable, especially those times when your lead singer is just talking to the crowd, you can lean back and have a smoke. and b) it reduces back problems.

I use a round one myself, it's what I'm used to though. That may matter more then all else.

b) it reduces back problems.

The only thing that reduces back problems is maintaining great posture while playing.

I second the Roc-n-Soc, I own one and I could sit on that thing all damn day, very comfortable bicycle style seat. Around 100 bucks though but its well worth it. I tried out a Pork Pie seat at a Guitar Center a while back and It was pretty nice as well, I wasnt a fan of the circular design because I prefer the bicycle seats but it wasnt too bad. Just go to a GC near you and sit on a bunch : D

I have a tama 1st wide rider tractor throne.

Really comfy, won't go out of shape, loads of adjustibility.

I have a Stagg stool and its absolute ****!!!

I thought, "i know its a cheapy Stagg, but its a stool.....wtf could go wrong?"

I've only had it a few months but I need a new one. Trouble is, I have other things to get first which sucks cos I hate it!!!!!

i have a cheap folding stool with some minor padding, and i find it quite comfy, I'm gonna get a different throne later in my life(most likely a roc-n-soc), but this isn't bad for now
