I have never understood the conept of playing 2 bass pedals at the same time while playing the high hat.
Do you just close them and not wory about the pedal?
Or do you have to switch off?
i do have an example of what i am talking about too.

well you can buy the cobra Clutch, you hit a pedal (connected to your hi hat) and it closes your hi hats tightly, then you go into double bass, then you hit it again and they open to the level they were at.
Or, you can use your hands and buy a drop clutch, a little switch ontop of your hi hats, you hit it down ,the hats clamp shut, you hi it up, they open back up.

o ok i see now...that looks like it would take some getting used to
but a great invention none the less
also..i bit off topic but it seems like i have hit a brick wall when i play my drums.
i mostly play punk rock considering thats what i like to listen to (ie. Rancid, Bouncing Souls, The Loved Ones ect.)
i tryed playing different genres of music at one point but the only thing i really came up with with orchestra types of stuff.
So anyway getting to the point what are some songs and types of music you like to listen to to play along with?
sorry for the offtopic question....
thanks again

that's a regular drop clutch
you hit the black part, and the hats close, when you step on the pedal again, it goes back to it's original position

Oooor..!!
Or!
You could just learn how to use your feet.
It's not very difficult to play 2 pedals, or even 3+ pedals, at the same time. There's a LOT of drummers who do this.
Relying on mechanical devices only makes for a crutch and lazyness. Drop clutches are convient if you just want the hats closed while doing other stuff with your feet.
As far as actually playing the hats, and other pedals. It's really not that hard. There are several ways of doing it.
Rancid Man - Expand the music you listen too, purchase a book or dvd on various styles. Tommy Igoe's is great. Grab an instructional book on creativity, such as New Breed. Work on rudiments and orchstrating them around. Learn about linear playing. Learn some samba's. Swing something. Play some shuffles.
There's litterally endless amounts of stuff to play on a drumset.

I could see playing 6 pedals at once, albeit uncomfortably, and as long as you don't have small feet... any way to get to more than that, Jos?
And you should learn how to play multiple pedals with the same foot. It's really quite easy and sounds impressive.
