Just out of curiosity, are any of you guys straight edge?
Straight edge is for fags. You don't need a label to not do drugs.
The only good thing about it is that it forms a sense of community.
i dont smoke/drink but i dont consider myself straight edge and i dont write x on my hand because i dont suck

I wouldn't say I'm straight edge..But I basically do everything it implies.
I'm not vegan enough to be sXe.

I've always been under the impression that a majority (not saying all) of sXe dudes and dudettes are vegan, coupled with the whole no drugs mantra.

Not really any edgers I know at my school either.

I have a few at my school, but they're all really retarded fake emo/goth kids who probably should be OD'ing more often, so they'll die sooner, I'm sick of being forced to look at them every day.

Nah, straight edge is no drinking/drugs/sex. I think.
Non-conformists tend to go all or nothing though so the confusion is understandable.

there was a purpose behind the x's you know. the x's were started by jeff nelson and they were wore at hardcore shows to show your commitment of refusal.

Someone should tell Jeff Nelson that his way to show commitment to refusal was already taken..

Yeah well tell that to the fags who beat up people who are drinking, draw X's on everything and go around fagging up the whole purpose of it.
I completely respect the concept of straight edge and in no way hold contempt for what it stands for, but when you get assholes like that, that ruin it, it gives the whole thing a bad image, and to be honest, there are lots of them.

id never ever want to be straight edge as drinking is way too much fun but its cool for other people to do it so long as they dont think they are in some way better than me for it. i hate little kids claiming to be edge when there not old enough to smoke or drink or have sex. thats so lame.

"Militant" straight edge is lame. To me, straight edge is a completely personal decision. I could care less what others are doing, so long as it doesn't affect me. I would never beat someone up for drinking or whatever.
A few of my friends drink, smoke, etc.
I've actually never seen any "militant" guys around here though. Everyone I know that's edge is cool.

anyone who is militant straight should really go die. what makes them think they can tell me how to live, gimps.

If anyone ever tries to knock a drink or smoke or something out of my hand I'll probably kill them so I don't see too many either :)
I don't see many straight edge people to begin with though because I don't really hang out in a crowd where it would be possible to be straight edge.

I agree. If someone is just chilling having a drink/smoke, I don't care. It's not affecting me.
Plus, here, you can't even smoke in bars/restaurants/etc, so it really isn't an issue.

even if they were then theyve chosen to go into a bar and be exposed to smoking. i dont go round beating up people who have because they slightly risk my life and i cant drive.

The only reason I could ever see for taking action would be if I was cornered by someone purposely blowing smoke in my face. But, seriously, that's never going to happen. :p

Some drugs are bad, so I can understand not doing drugs
But anyone who doesn´t like drinking and sex, I mean, come on. drinking and sex, are only like two of the most ultimate things I can think of.
and alright, if some one in your family was an alcoholic or something tragic like that I can understand not drinking..
But still, anyone who is straight edged enough to not like sex
just plain sucks.
You don't not have sex.
It's against promiscuity.

There's a difference between not liking sex and abstaining from cold, emotionless, meaningless sex.
And I happen to just hate the test of alcohol. I don't have any real opposition to it.
And it's more so drug culture that I dislike rather than the drugs themselves.
