As most of you rugby fans know, the Six Nations tournament is closing in on us. In this thread, talk about your favourite teams, good matches, star players and the Autumn tests. Ok, discuss.

So... why does northern hemisphere rugby suck so much?

More to the point, just how much better are the All Blacks then every other team out there currently?

Northern Hemisphere rugby isn't that bad. Remember Australia lost to Ireland and drew with Wales. The Pacific Islands team got destroyed. South Africa lost to Ireland and one match against England. Need I remind you who the current world champions are? :p lol

New Zealand are really on fire at the minute. Unless some of the other teams out there pick up or/and New Zealand fall down miserably they're guaranteed the RWC next year.

Anyway, back on topic.
Think unless England get a new manager and everything sorted out soon (unlikely) that the 6 nations this year is between France and Ireland. Based on the French performance against the all blacks I think I'd put money on Ireland coming first. their team is going from strength to strength. Hopefully, England's performance this year will be better than the last one.

France have made a really strong start by hammering Italy 39-3. But in saying that it was against Italy.

Scotland vs England is good so far. Especially since Scotland are winning :)
Wilkinson looks to have been a good inclusion for England.

Bahaha, the commentators on the BBC are arguing.

Yeah. I think the scoreline flattered Ireland slightly, though.

We got humped yesterday :(

Maybe they'll win a world cup some day :p

Terrible for an Irish fan. You can't argue with a 3 tries to 0 result, but we really didn't play like the favourites we're supposed to be. France at home next week, so that'll be the real test. Hopefully O'Driscoll will be ok.

Good start for England yestoday. Wilco coming back defiantly made a huge impact on the team. His try? Hmm, i dunno i thought it looked ok, but i heard something about a knee hitting the floor, i was looking to see if he had control and where his hand hit the flag tbh.

Thats all i have to say with my limited rugby knowledge (i usually watch leauge if i do) i just watch it, no idea whats going on half the time.

Yeah i saw the pic in the paper today, Ill go with Wilco though, he says they have the technology to show its not a try if its not, so why give it? fools.

Hey is there a good place to stream this online. It sucks being American. It makes rugby tough. Maybe some kind of dailymotion youtube stream?

I doubt you can stream full games. Maybe you can order some online, idk.

Good comeback from Wilko, though his try shouldnt have been given.

bah, Ireland is going to be a huge contender

Good effort by Italy today, I thought.

Scotland 21 - 9 Wales

Wales were really poor and our inability to score a try today was worrying :(
Oh well. A win is a win.

France vs Ireland should be good tomorrow.

England were a bit Arse.

Feel sorry for the Italian with the broken ankle too. That looked painful.

Shouting at the TV aplenty during our game today :(

England's tepid performance was somewhat of a relief; I was expecting them to be on a roll coming to Dublin on the back of two impressive wins. It'll still be a difficult game, but I feel better about it. Congrats to Scotland too, Wales were outplayed in every sense except at the tryline.

Ireland v France tomorrow, the first ever rugby game at Croke Park. O'Driscoll and Stringer are both out, which is a blow, but it means Murphy starts again, and Boss is at least a competent replacement for Stringer. I'm pretty confident that we'll come out on top tomorrow.

Ugh, we thre that away. They were the better team for most of the match, but their tries were laughably soft to give away.

Ouch, I couldn't believe it when I switched it on after 8 minutes and saw 21-0 on the screen.

England bastards lose again woot

I know. When they scored the first try I switched over to Sky Sports news to prevent from breaking down in tears. When I switched back it was 21-0 :(

Ireland were really impressive though.
I think I've found a new favourite hobby of being in a pub full of English people when England lose. It's rather entertaining.

France 13-14 Wales so far.

EDIT: France 20-14 Wales

Damn, Scotland got absolutely humped today. I shredded Chris Paterson's autograph whilst sobbing after the first three tries from Italy. Then my Scotland signed rugby top. Then I threw the signed team photo into the crusher along with the car that I drove to the match.

Oh man, some weekend. Ireland went to Scotland and got taught another lesson in humility, which the Scots must be tired of giving us now, but luckily we managed to escape with a win.

Ronan O'Gara alleges he was deliberately choked and almost killed in the final ruck of the game. There's no video evidence so it won't go any further, but there was a picture on the front of today's paper which shows his face is clearly blue (dunno how much was down to the paint though) and John Hayes had to put him in a recovery position and stop him swallowing his tongue :/

Wales finished hilariously, and England beat France. Three teams on equal points now and all can theoretically win it. Amazing, you'd never have believed it last weekend.
