It was 15 years ago when he died. He was one of the greatest artists of all time.

Discuss Queen and Freddie Mercury solo work here.

When he died, my aunt told my mom...

It's too bad he died so soon, he could have been famous
...

My aunt sucks.

He had a great voice. And teeth like a rat's.

Oh no, he died :(

I think I prefer his solo work to Queen, such is my hatred for everything Brian May.

Brian May's good. You suck. Nice avatar though.

I'm glad this world was spared of his awful vocals. :thumb:

Not really. He's one of the most overated musicians, ever.

That still doesn't mean his vocals were horrible. You're not shocking anyone.

They weren't good. That is for damn sure. In fact, average would suit them well.

He had a big range, great control, and pretty good phrasing. There are better, for sure, but he's not average.

Ehhh. The thing is, he gets all this praise, but there are ten billion superior singers out there. It's just pointless to praise the "good but not great" crowd.

Well, he was also in an insanely popular band so he has a lot of exposure that most vocalists don't have the privelage of.

He had a near-four octave range and excellent tone, all of this without any actual training. Even if there were better people out there that doesn't make him average, in fact, by definition it makes him a natural talent.

I thought these threads were against the rules. Oh well, I'm new here.

I burnt a Queen CD with my favorite Queen songs on it, but that's their only album I've heard, and it's not a real album.

I forgot to put Bohemian Rhapsody on it though.
