View Full Version : Stage Custom tom mounts

Does anyone own a Yamaha Stage Custom and have problems with adjusting the toms? Its not so much I have problems with the actual mounting device or anything, but it seems no matter what adjustments I do to it, I cant get the toms at a decent angle to where they are not almost facing me. I see most other peoples kits on here and the toms are a lot more flat per say and look like the would be much easier to get around and up and down on. I dont know if its because my tom sizes are kind of big, 11 and 12 inches, or if its just the mounts that come with the kit that you cant do much with. I can take pictures if needed but If anyone has any clue what I'm talking about I would appreciate any help

I have the Stage Custom Advantage, and I figure the YESS moutning system is one of the most versatile and solid mounting systems there is. I have 10" and 12" toms above the bass drum, and can mount them fine. Just sit at your kit, hold the part of the rim of the drum that's closest to you, and loosen the ball clamp. You have almost infinate degrees of movement to use.

i have the 11 and 12 depths that i used to mount above my bass. it was fine for me, especially with the ball and clamp

I have a stage custom advantage, and it came with two triple tom holder things... I have my 10' and 12' toms to the left of the bass drum, on the stand.

Would you like pics of the setup to help?

Synco, sounds like you do the same as I do, I've found that's a great set-up!

I had that set up on my SCA at one point, but I moved back to the "1 rack tom two floor tom" set up. Moving on to mounts, I have no problem whatsoever on them. Actually, I find them the best overall mounts to have on a kit.
