I dig it, but I can just hear him straining to sing while he plays.

I think Seth Horan does the bassing/singing thing much better.

Akira, Seth Horan was a lot more enjoyable than the first post. Felt more like music than wankage accompanied by singing.

They're both complete emo fags. Solo bass should be solo bass, and singer-songwriters need guitars.

I can't tell if you're serious or not.

the first guys song, instramentally, i think is much more difficult than seth horan's. This could explain why he seems to be "straining" while he is singing...

That's true. And I would say having a more simple bass line and strong vocals is a lot better than having a crazy bass line and weak vocals.

he's "straining" because he just didn't have much vocal abilities when he wrote that song. this has been stated by Nathan Hughes himself, and is the reason why he doesn't like that song.

Nathan's music and lyrics and voice suck, Seth's voice is good yet unlistenable and his lyrics...also suck.

OMG I'm good at bass, now I'm gonna sing like a little girl so I can get laid!

Check out John Lester if you prefer simpler bass and more accomplished singing. The tracks up there are accompanied by a small band, but when he performed Bass Day UK last year he was playing solo. Some truly beautiful stuff - most of my favourite tracks aren't up there, but check out 'Happy Man'.
