Hello fellow drummers!

Lately, I have been having some very frustrating problems. I have always been one to try to learn new things and expand my rhythmic vocabulary, but recently I have been at a loss for new, interesting drum beats, fills e.t.c.

I would greatly appreciate it if others could help me with some ideas ::naughty:

Thanks

That's a fairly open ended question...

Learn different types of music, sambas, bossa's, 2nd line funk, whatever.. expose yourself to new things.

Let see, got the 40 down? Hmm do ya? If so, move on to the world of hyrbid rudiments!

Grab yourself a progressive snare solo book!

Learn about linear drumming!

Try playing with your hands!

Try playing with brushes!

Get some play along cd's (turn it up and lay it down!)

Artificial groupings? use em? Ok go learn and use..

Over the bar line phrasing..

Multiple bar phrasing...

metric modulation!

Play the hats w/ foot on the E of grooves... or chick em on the A'

Or maybe splash em on the upbeats!

Learn a mambo!

Orchstrate a snare solo on the drumkit!

Listen to Karizma's Document album

Listen to Tony Williams

Put rudiments between your hands and feet!

Look on my site for cool stuff ( http://www.josiahmicheletti.com )

Buy some cool books! Advanced Funk Studies, Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer! Syncopation! The Art of Bop!

The New Breed!!!

Do you own stick control? Well buy it then and love it!

Get yourself a different pair of drumsticks.

A new pad.

Set the metronome to 56 and make it groove

Now try 42!

I'll come back with more later maybe

This is too advanced for me!

Anyways, look at tabs for inspiration and that, work on rudiments and books.
