I'm really really really into the acoustic pieces of bands like Opeth and Agalloch I'm looking for one or two albums by some different bands who create similar style stuff.

I always find when searching around for these bands that they're either brilliant or horrendously cheesey, hence why I haven't found much myself.

Any suggestions that don't fall into the cheese category would be welcome.

Of The Wand and The Moon
Tenhi

That's all you need. Both of them are band names, I can't recommend only 1 album by each one since there are all great.

Righto, I'll check them both out.

Empyrium - Any of their albums really. Thier first 2 are almost all acoustic with clean vox but they also have some harsh vocals and stuff, but their last 2 albums are completely acoustic and clean.

Ulver - Kveldssanger

Dammit Ulver is what I was going to say

TS should listen to Agalloch - The Misshapen Steed. As much as possible.

Drudkh just released an album of dark acoustic/folk music. I think it's called Songs of Grief and Solitude, but I haven't heard it myself.

How could I forget Drudkh's new one. Oh well its a great suggestion from whoever it comes from since it's such a killer album, the only downfall is it doesn't have any vocals. I'm looking forward to the next Drudkh BM release too.

That song reminds me so much of the music in Oblivion.

Gash, I only have The Mantle and Ashes Against The Grain by Agalloch, though I'll probably checkout some of these other bands before I get anymore Agalloch.

Thanks for the suggestions people :).

Get Pale Folklore by Agalloch as soon as possible. It is probably one of the best albums I ever heard from an American metal band.

The new Borknagar album is acoustic and has a dark feel to it, and it has Vintersorg on vocals.

Does Sol Invictus fall into this style? I've only heard Agalloch's cover of "Kneel to the Cross"

Sol Invictus could possibly fit into the category. They're more of an avant folk band in the ways they've evolved over the years, but if you've not checked them out, they'd work.

Expect dull vocals, however. That's my only warning. :p

I though I was too  It seems now as if I'll have to find some way to redeem myself.

Hearing the original may set your soul at ease or something.

Alright well I like the Agalloch one, so it appears I will have to go on an epic quest to find this song.
