i want to no what u peaople think i should get, the meinl 16 amun thin crash for $260 or the Bosphorus gold 16 rock crash. please dont tell me to try them out because that would need a 2 hr drive. theres only $9 between them so prices are similar

also ive listened to the sound clips on cymbalsonly and i like them both, but im not sure which one better. i play rock, metal but i like cymbals that have a nice sound, that arnt to heavy

also i have an amun ride so would the amun crash fit in better or does it not matter

and can someone explain what to do when the edge of ur cymbal crack? i drilled a hole at the end of the crack but it just continued. thanks in advance

Fix your technique, then buy a new cymbal.

Well I have the Bosphorus Gold 16" Power Crash. I love it to bits. Really bright and shimmers. Plenty of overtones being a Hang Hammered crash. Pairs really well with my Istanbul Agop 18" trad which is alot darker but still has the same sustain and shimmer to it. They both sound like galss shattering when you crash them :)

I'm guessing the bosphorus will be hand hammered, so you will need to go try one out. Seriously dude, you have a ****ty excuse. I have to get an hour and 20 minute bus journey, which is usually about 20 mins late ontop of that, then a 15 minute walk through a crowded city.

2 hour drive is a luxuary compared to what i have to go through.

i cant just go to sydney and find a shop ive never been to.....my parents werent letting me go when i was going to a footy stadium with 3 of my friends.

thanks for the input ian, i was kinda just taking the gold over the amun, it just sounded slightly better in the clip. but the fact that ive already got an amun, and no they r good evened it out

if both r pretty even i think i might go for the amun simply because of the consistency.

Well.. Ive described the properties of the cymbals for ya... Plenty of overtones, complex and shimmering.

It just depends on if the Amun has the same characteristics. Reason being, I bought a AA Medium off the local Ebay(tradme) and it was GONGY to the point of no return. It sounded horrible in comparison to my other crashes. So just imagine....

if your amun sounds like Glass shattering or a gong being struck?

well i dont have the amun crash i have the ride but it sounds more glassy then gongy..... so then the amun cash would probably. i want more of a glass sound then a gong sound.

the ride has a lot of overtones but also a good ping. tho its hard comparing a ride to a crash

Bos = Turk ; Meinl = German

It's up to you. The hammering is going to be different. I'd say Bos because they're complete custom cymbals.
