I've been listening to a lot of noisy, nasty sort of music lately. Mainly Shellac, The Jesus Lizard and Scratch Acid but also a bit of The Birthday Party. Any recommendations?

Tweez by Slint is abrasive but is still rather good.

Animal Collective's Sung Tongs has some abrasive stuff too.

Early Unwound is what you most definitely need.

Tweez by Slint is rather abrasive but is still rather good.

Animal Collective's Sung Tongs has some abrasive stuff too.

agreed on both, but Animal Collective's earlier stuff is maybe even more abrasive.

No Wave music is abrasive as hell too.

ive only got some pan sonic stuff. it can be like a billion flies taking off in a wind tunnel, then recorded and played back through a distortion pedal.

their latest one Human Animal gave me more of an appreciation of them. it has quite a bit of free jazzy stuff on it

when i first heard Stabbed In The Face i thought they sucked but eventually i grew to like them...
