Here we can talk about the best bands probably ever, including:
Pere Ubu
Josef K
Orange Juice
Fire Engines
Associates
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Human League
Devo
Teardrop Explodes
Those are my favourites, but let's talk about whoever. If you've heard most of these bands I've listed here, you'll realise how much they've had an influence on modern indie music, ie. Franz Ferdinand, The Bravery, Bloc Party, The Rapture. I can't see a thread devoted to my favourite genre so I thought it was time we respect our brothas.
Ummm yeah. Woop. x

I'm really into The Birthday Party right now.
Bloc Party and Editors are the best bands ever.

I love them too. Listen to these bands and you'll see where they get everything from. Editors sound a lot like Depeche Mode actually.

Josef K
Orange Juice
Aztec Camera are better than these bands, but they're also great. Scotland had some great bands for about two years in the eighties.

ha, agreed.
although:
cocteau twins
the jesus and mary chain
orange juice
fire engines
josef k
the delgados
the vaselines
mogwai
not necessarily post punk, but why my country rules. well it does anything but rule, but these artists give me hope.
It's all about The Birthday Party, Joy Division, and The Pop Group.
Also, Bukowski: Is your name Bukowski like the Blag Flag guy or like the author? I've always meant to ask you that.
Bukowski

Mostly it comes from the author since he was my favorite when I made this account (although BF was prob. my fav band at the time). Still is one of my favorites, I love his writing.

You all seem to have forgotten Gang of Four. The best.
Also, Magazine are cool.
I listened to Entertainment! a couple of minutes after waking up this morning.
Good times.

Yep. Orange Juice ftw.

Well, if you're a square doesn't that also mean you're a virgin, or do squares get laid too?

Awww man, Orange Juice are great. I think the Scotland scene in the late 70's/early 80's was some of the best music ever, like.
