Here is a song we just got done tracking. It's not mixed yet. I have some cool tapping fills around :20, 1:00, 1:20. This is a short song, it's a transitional piece we use in our live show and decided to throw on the album.

i couldn't hear the fills even when i listened for them, but i have a couple things to say-
when you played the bassline higher up, and then came back down an octave, it sounded ace, and the bassline's really cool also.
the guitar part is pretty cool except all the fils he does are horrible, not the right sound, plus he played them very sloppily
other than that it's pretty cool as a transition bit

Same as the rest in that I couldn't hear the tapping.
It all sounded pretty sweet, but I'm not sure about the intro. I think there needs to be something more to fill in the gaps. I know that was the intent, but after the second time, it starts to get redundant and a bit annoying. Even a simple solid 8th note pattern on the hi-hats, some distant vocals singing or talking...something.
I would like a vid.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll put up a better mix when we get to that point and I'll make sure the fills come out gangsta enough. As for the guitarist... not much I can do about him!

The fill at 0.20 is barely audible, the one at 1.00 is nonexistent, and the fill at 1.20 sounds bad.
Also, your singer has one of the worst voices I have ever heard, and the music is well boring.

enjoyed the song... like other people there were some stuff that could be fixed, but overall i think it was good
as for the singer, i thought he was good. and theres no need to be an asshole..."one of the worst voices I have ever heard".... i can understand some constructive criticism man but thats rediculous

I was being serious when I said that, though.
Also, how do you go about giving constructive criticism about someone's voice? Tell them to rip their vocal chords out and implant new ones?

It's all good man. What is it that you dont like about his voice?
The proof is in the pudding though- we have a great draw out here and people love our live show. All in all he's been a pretty good frontman.
Anyway Pluper if you're going to be a hater, show us what you've got. I'm curious. Are you in one of those bands that wear girl pants and tuck their nuts back?

Instrumentally it's cool. Really cool, in fact. But the singers voice... I mean I don't want to be rude, but it just really bugs me. The pitch seems decent enough for a small band, but the timbre gets to me.

Already said, many times but, your fills, not noticable, guitar's fills, not so great. But other than that the instruments are good, the singer is great. I don't know what that one guy here's problem is but his a great singer. I'd love to have a singer like that, works great with the music. I say add more to this, it could be a great song, not just a transitional piece.

The singer's not bad, but the voice is just too nasally for my liking.

As Akira (Can I call you Rabi?) already said, his voice is too nasally, so it makes for an annoying voice to listen to. That is pretty much why I dislike his voice so greatly.
Also, no, I am not in one of those bands that "wears girl pants and tuck their nuts back." I admit that, at one point in time, yes, I did wear girl trousers, but I never had the idiot mentality of a scenester. Do I anymore? No. Why? It is incredibly pointless, and I didn't do it to follow a trend. A lady at a store suggested it to me because I was too skinny to fit into guy trousers correctly three years ago.
With that said, I don't play in a lame *** scene band that only cares about the breakdowns and their hair.
When my band finishes with our demo, I will post it, so that you can criticise and pick it apart all you want. :)

I don't think he's an "asswipe" just for reacting the same way many people would after some random guy attacks him for no reason. Even you have to admit that Chaos' response was completely undeserved. The negativity seemed a bit personal.
he was not "attacked." his singer was criticized by a random internet entity. if that's the most assaulting experience of his life, i envy him.

First off, I wasn't attacking him. He put his band's song on the internet with the title "Check out my tapping fills." What am I going to do? Tell him that it is the best thing that I have ever heard? I admit that I did go about it in a poor manner by not explaining myself thoroughly, but, if chaosMK is going to become so butt hurt because someone doesn't appreciate his band, he shouldn't be posting his band on the internet. People will, and do, criticise people whether it be good or bad. It is the way of life, and, if chaosMK can't deal with it, tell him to stop posting his material on the internet.

Alright, in all honesty, your post doesn't reserve a response, but I already admitted to having gone about it in a poor manner.
Now, just drop it and let the thread die as it was before you bumped it.

Nice bass playing, the spots where the tapping fills are sound a little awkward though. I didn't think the guitarist or vocalist were too bad, but I really couldn't dig the actual guitar sound at all.

the bass playing was ok but the tapping fills were a bit pointless and not needed in my opinion... nice tone though!
vocals were very nasal sounding which kinda ruined a nice chilled song
