its a Backline Gallien-Krueger 112 amp (and thats the link to it up there)
its 100W does it have good tone?
i play metal and i sometimes slap + Pop
if not then tell/show me a good quality amp that can beat drums for Under $500
but my budjet is $300... i would have to save up if one was over $300

The red is pretty damn scary..... Really feel threatened.
Your link is bad, btw.
At any rate you'll be struggling to be heard with that. The Backline series is also notorious for having QC problems and not-quite-the-Gallien-Krueger tone...
You get what you pay for in most cases.

The other thread was closed, so here's a good starting point for some single effects. And yes, the Backline series is a little bit shoddy. Try the Ashdow MAG 300 series or a Yorkville.

The Yorkville isn't on MF, but look around it's about the same as the Ashdown. That, or look at Peavey.

I've played the Backline series, and was not very impressed with the tone. Try Ashdown.
Though you might need a helmet, big guy.

It has a single 12" speaker the same as the other one so it won't be significantly louder even if it's double the power.
Have a look for an Ashdown MAG 410 combo.
for ****'s sake Aero, the guy was banned for being a douche. no need to help him, it's not like he can see it anyways.

Double the wattage, double the volume. That is the general rule of thumb.

Ok  It is in the car stereo competition world, I don't know why it would be any different in any case.

In order to double the volume you need to multiply the wattage by ten...
And normally it's the effiency of the speakers that affects the volume.

I don't see why the physics wouldn't apply to auto audio either, but the "rules of thumb" are:
double the wattage adds ~ 3 dB.
10 dB is considered twice the volume.

Jonly, there's really no point in arguing with lowsound.

Sure there is. :p Someone has to prove him wrong.

Any time a question comes up about watts, tubes, SS, volume, and any combo of the three I always like to flash my trusty Edge Signal into the nights sky.

nah. LS is a good poster in that his forum etiquette is top-notch. But this IS the internet and we would have had generations to come citing his post as proof that double watts = double volume.

Seriously, what the hell?
1) As it's been stated, for it to be twice as powerful, it's ten times the wattage.
2) That has NEVER been a rule of thumb.
3) Much more factors are considered, as if it's a tube amp or not, speaker sizes, etc.
