Requiem for Dream

This movie is deffinately a classic. Its just so ****ing raw and intense. I liked Aronofsky's first movie Pi too. What did you guys think of Requiem?

Didn't really care for it. Didn't care for the characters, except maybe Jennifer Connely, but that's probably more because she's a woman. Definitely didn't sympathize with the mother, though.

I'm kind of looking forward to The Fountain, though, but that's probably moreso because of Hugh Jackman and his recent move The Prestige. And my recent fascination with Kate Winslet.

Thats it man. I thought the characters were very one-dimensional for the most part and it didn't draw me in at first, it picked up towards the last third or so though and thats where i thought it's strengths were.

Mainly because I sometimes worry that's how my mom's gonna turn out(not fat and getting addicted to pills, but lonely because I'm really all she's had that's important for all these years).

That whole scene in the flat made me shudder.

I didn't either, which is what most people I've talked to did. He son is the one I really felt sorry for, losing his arm and all. Same with his girlfriend, sinking to the levels she does.


Overall, I enjoyed Aronofskys first movie, Pi, more. Requiem is good though, and I'm definately looking foward to The Fountain.

i really liked Requim, I thought it was a great movie.
I didnt really like pi that much, it was fairly good tho.

Anyway, I didn't like Requiem that much. It wasn't a terrible movie and it had great shock scenes that really showed the gritty lifestyle of drug users, and it had a great ending. However, the story line isn't great and the cinematics are not consistent in quality or even of the quality that would be expected from an Arnofsky film.

It's a great movie, but I hate watching it. I've seen it twice, and both times I was almost in tears because of how the characters turn out. I think Jennifer Connelly's character got to me the most. I hate to see women in such a vulnerable position and to see assholes take advantage. It makes me sick...

Yeah, this movie is definitely amazing, i was thinking about it for at least a week after I saw it.
