hey im looking for some melodic drone metal kinda like radiohead... i know radiohead is the best melodic drone metal but i want to expand my horizons...thanks for the help :thumb:

Before anyone here rips your throat out for callng Radiohead "melodic drone metal," you should know that they're classified as Alternative rock, maybe even experimental at times, but in no way are they "melodic drone metal."

We could recommend bands that are Alternative, like Radiohead, but if you want bands that are melodic drone metal, you might want to go to the Rock & Metal subforum.

The unique thing about Radiohead, however, is that hardly any other band has the same sound as they do; but you might as well try Animal Collective or Slint or something. I'm stumped.

Believe it or not, most "normal" people (i.e. those not frequenting music-related sites) confuse genres all the time
