Hey guys/gals,
The jack and the pots on my bass, Dean Edge Q4, are pieces of garbage and I was lookin' to replace them. Now I could go take it to someone and get it replaced for 20 - 25$, but I'd really like to learn how to do it and from the looks of it, it doesn't look too hard. I was just wondering what kind of jack would be appropriate for my bass? Since it has an active preamp in it, I would assume that the jack I should get should be stereo? Also it looks like the jack has 3 little terminals on there, so would I be correct in saying it's a stereo jack? It seems like it's fairly long as well. If it helps, the outside hole that the jack is sitting in is 3/4" in diameter, and the inside hole it comes through seems to be a bit over 1/2". Any help on which jack to get would be of great help.
Here's a pic of the jack:

As for the pots, they keep getting scratchy from dust and stuff getting into them, and after cleaning them and cleaning them, they still do it, and it's getting on my nerves. I was wondering if it's worth replacing or maybe upgrading them? I was thinking of replacing the tone pots that are 100k to 250k and replacing the volume pot with another 500k. Would that be ok? or would that ruin the preamp? There's one tone pot, the treble I believe, that isn't marked, but since the other tone pots are 100k, I would assume that that one is too.

Any help in finding the correct jack and pots and how to go about doing this would be greatly greatly appreciated. :)
