I'm not really all that big on them, but "Make You Feel That Way" by Blackalicious is pretty much the definition of what you're asking for.

Break 'em off somethin
{*inhales*} ****..
{*exhales*} Yo..
Yo.. uhh..
[Verse One]
Just wakin up in the mornin gotta thank God
I don't know but today seems kinda odd
No barkin from the dog, no smog
And momma cooked a breakfast with no hog (damn)
I got my grub on, but didn't pig out
Finally got a call from a girl I wanna dig out
(Whassup?) Hooked it up for later as I hit the do'
Thinkin will I live, another twenty-fo'
I gotta go cause I got me a drop top
And if I hit the switch, I can make the *** drop
Had to stop, at a red light
Lookin in my mirror and not a jacker in sight
And everything is alright
I got a beep from Kim, and she can **** all night
Called up the homies and I'm askin y'all
Which park, are y'all playin basketball?
Get me on the court and I'm trouble
Last week ****ed around and got a triple double
Freakin niggaz everyway like M.J.
I can't believe, today was a good day (****!)
[Verse Two]
Drove to the pad and hit the showers
Didn't even get no static from the cowards
Cause just yesterday them fools tried to blast me
Saw the police and they rolled right past me
No flexin, didn't even look in a nigga's direction
as I ran the intersection
Went to $hort Dog's house, they was watchin Yo! MTV Raps
What's the haps on the craps?
Shake 'em up, shake 'em up, shake 'em up, shake 'em
Roll 'em in a circle of niggaz and watch me break 'em
with the seven, seven-eleven, seven-eleven
Seven even back do' Lil' Joe
I picked up the cash flow
Then we played bones, and I'm yellin domino
Plus nobody I know got killed in South Central L.A.
Today was a good day (****!)
[Verse Three]
Left my nigga's house paid (what)
Picked up a girl been tryin to **** since the 12th grade
It's ironic, I had the brew she had the chronic
The Lakers beat the Supersonics
I felt on the big fat fanny
Pulled out the jammy, and killed the punanny
And my dick runs deep, so deep
So deep put her *** to sleep
Woke her up around one
She didn't hesitate, to call Ice Cube the top gun
Drove her to the pad and I'm coastin
Took another sip of the potion hit the three-wheel motion
I was glad everything had worked out
Dropped her *** off and then chirped out
Today was like one of those fly dreams
Didn't even see a berry flashin those high beams
No helicopter looking for a murder
Two in the mornin got the Fatburger
Even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp
And it read, "Ice Cube's a pimp" (yeah)
Drunk as hell but no throwin up
Half way home and my pager still blowin up
Today I didn't even have to use my A.K.
I got to say it was a good day (****!)
[Ice Cube]

That song is the essential poetic expression of ghetto nihilism and hopelessness. It's offensive that it came up in this thread. Boo.

Actually, you're right. I learned it at the private high school that I went to.
Now, what does all this have to do with the Nas record?
Well, some things can't be learned in a text book.

Now, what does all this have to do with the Nas record? You're trying to say that songs message is based on the hopelessness people feel in ghetto while it's far from that. If you actually took a step back you'd see he's really just trying to say no matter what life you live you can always find peace of mind doing your own thing and to live life to the fullest.
Well, some things can't be learned in a text book.
They're learned in Rick Ross songs.

He should probably push it to the limit and write a good song...
You're trying to say that songs message is based on the hopelessness people feel in ghetto while it's far from that. If you actually took a step back you'd see he's really just trying to say no matter what life you live you can always find peace of mind doing your own thing and to live life to the fullest.I'm not trying to say that Nas is speaking for anyone but himself. That said, these are the lyrics:
Even though, we know somehow we all gotta go
but as long as we leavin thievin we'll be leavin with some kind of dough
so, and to that day we expire and turn to vapors
me and my capers-ll be somewhere stackin plenty papers
Keepin it real, packin steel, gettin high
Cause life's a bitch and then you die
Life's a bitch and then you die; that's why we get high
Cause you never know when you're gonna go
Life's a bitch and then you die; that's why we puff lye
Cause you never know when you're gonna go
There are four lines of obvious positivity in this song
I woke up early on my born day, I'm twenty years of blessing
The essence of adolescent leaves my body now I'm fresh in
My physical frame is celebrated cause I made it
One quarter through life some God-ly like thing created
but I'd say they're pretty mitigated by the rest of it. Here's how the positive beginning of that verse works out:
I switched my motto -- instead of sayin **** tomorrow
That buck that bought a bottle could've struck the lotto
Once I stood on the block, loose cracks produce stacks
I cooked up and cut small pieces to get my loot back
Time is Illmatic keep static like wool fabric
Pack a four-matic that crack your whole cabbage
It's like he's about to say that things got better, but he never says it, and instead it goes back to the chorus. I think that it reads pretty clearly to me.
But more importantly, never did I try and claim any kind of representation in this song. The lyrics are what the lyrics are. I don't know why you had to go there by pointing at some kind of irony that the college kid listens to hip hop music. If I was trying to front somehow, do you think I would reveal where I go to school in my location like that? Do you think that my privilege is somehow lost on me?
They're learned in Rick Ross songs. You and pixiesfan should just go jerk each other off and continue making stupid jokes with very little foundation.
You should talk about stupid jokes with little foundation.

man you're looking way too closely at things
like i said, take a step back and look at it in broad terms
You should talk about stupid jokes with little foundation.
You go to Brown University, I'd say there's a decent reason to base a private school joke off that.
You and pixiesfan should just go jerk each other off and continue making stupid jokes with very little foundation.
I didn't know you were so sensitive.

You really are a college boy
Funny joke bro.
T.T for Ricky raus
You really are a college boy
Humorous that that is being used as an insult.
Humorous that that is being used as an insult.
I almost want to go there, but then they would have evidence to back up their assumption that I'm a blueblood elitist because I go to college.
You really are a college boy
You're being stupid. Explain to me how determining what a song is about from the lyrics makes me a college boy. Or, better yet, explain to me how you determined that the song was about something that's directly contradicted by the lyrics.
