I love this band (well, until recently). Long story short, I just picked up their newest studio album "Be" from the store. What a waste of money. I wanted a progressive metal cd, not a broadway musical soundtrack. I can't listen to the whole thing straight through it's so bad. I can't even return it because I broke the CD case already.

But on a good note, their older stuff rocks. I have Entropia and the Perfect Element Part 1

Remedy Lane's my favourite, with The Perfect Element Part I a close second. BE's probably the most experimental stuff I've heard in a long time, but, like Duman, said, it's more of a background thing.

ok, pretty much listened to all of the album and this is what I think.

Parts of songs are really good, and then part's just annoy the **** out of me, like Daniel's rap style vocals. The hell is with the song, "Disco Queen". This album will probably grow on me, but imo. this is one of their weakest releases. It just dosen't carry the amount of emotion the other releases did.

I love these guys, but it's an interesting relationship that I have with their music. Sometimes, I'll be completely obsessed with their music, but other times, it'll just seem way too cheesy. This seems to get more and more polar as I move through their discography. For example, even though I go through phases where BE is the best album I've ever heard, most of the time, I can't stand it. It's weird. Remedy Lane seems to be the exception, though.

Also, if somebody could send the new one to me, I'd be very grateful: halfdeadhippo @ hotmail.com

Thanks.

I'm kind of stunned by this album actually. I was expecting bad compared to PoS's other material, not just flat out bad. Granted, I didn't think Be was a good album, but it still had Iter Impius and Imago redeeming it. I can't believe that the same person who wrote Remedy Land and The Perfect Element I wrote this album.

The thing that disappoints me most about this album is Daniel's vocals. It was half way through the album before I heard a somewhat memorable vocal line. If he couldn't come up with the amazing melodies of Remedy Lane I wish he would've just gone back to the vocal acrobatics of The Perfect Element.

Disco Queen is over 8 minutes long. Seriously.

12:5 is such a cool album. I love the middle movement most thus far; I love how much they messed around with Winning a War. I'm generally a sucker for Middle Eastern influenced music though, so I kind of saw that coming, heh.

Anyways, the third movement (Brickwork 6-10) didn't do much for me. I haven't heard any of the songs which would probably explain that, but still, it seems very meh.
