I'm a big metalhead, and I pay attention to the less known metal bands out there, but lately I haven't heard anything new I like yet you know? I love swedish metal, but I'm looking for something that can take me away, you know like Opeth. I'm just kinda gettin' a little bit ticked off because I want to hear something orgasmic again! Kinda hard to find a band that does that to you you know? I'd apreciate any suggestions please. And you shoud check out my profile just to see who I already have under my favorites list before you suggest any thing, thanks.

try out Bloodbath... Mikael Aekerfeldt once played guitar and/or sang on one of their two albums. its death-metal but not a 08/15 death metal... quite interesting songs and melodies... i like them.

right now i listen to them :D

Are you looking for kinda slower stuff with alot of emotion and atmosphere but that still has harsh vox etc, similar to Opeth? If so I sugest Agalloch and Empyrium. Both are absolutely magical bands.

Agalloch and Mirrorthrone might do it for you.

Check out Agalloch for sure. Some say they're simliar to Opeth, but the only really thing they have in common is their acoustic work.

If you have AIM, I can send you all of their albums.

I'll check these guys out, but I'm also skeptical on new stuff, you all ever have a CD and not listen to it, then a year passes, you put it in and wonder why the hell you did'nt listen to it earlier? I mean I know good tunes but I've heard about Isis, I'll definately look into them, but what is Children of Bodom like? keep the suggestions coming I'll start checking everything out, thanks everone.

Bodom is like a really cheesey power metal band, made boring and given "death metal" elements.

If you want something that is just energetic and sounds real, I suggest Through The Eyes Of The Dead... great newer melodic death metal band.

Also, try Ulver, Drudkh, Emperor, Darkthrone (Transilvanian Hunger album), Blut Aus Nord, and Summoning.

Freezing Moon
