View Full Version : 49ers making me cry...

I am a die-hard 49ers fan, and it's been really hard the last couple of seasons. The offensive line is crap, Alex Smith is still a rookie, and they still haven't dumped York. Sure they beat the Vikings last week, but it's still very frustrating as a fan when your team sucks. I want your opinions on what would make my team better, and funny pictures about how you hate the Raiders. At least they've beaten the Raiders... That's something to smile about...:chug:

Unfortunately, it's probably true. I hate the offensive line! If the 9ers had a decent offensive line, I think that it would give Alex Smith a little bit more confidence and I could sleep peacefully knowing that at least they'd eventually get better. But now it's just really frustrating.

I hear you there.

the offensive line isnt all the problem though. the raiders have more of a problem with the offensive line. it was hilarious on monday night. walter sacked (what was it) oh, 8 times. i was laughing.

The problem with the 49ers is this:
They need defense. they've given up more points than ANY other team in the NFL. they allowed 41 points against KC and 41 again for Chicago. its sad.

As far as offense, they have good players as long as they dont turn the ball over or go 3 and out they'll be fine. i think smith still needs to grow as a QB.

I will say he's remarkably better than he was last year. he hasnt thrown nearly as many interceptions. note: last year he didn't even start all the games, this year he has and way less interceptions.

I noticed that when the 49ers win the turnover battle they win the game. when the played the raiders 4 interceptions and i think one or two fumbles recovered for the 9ers. When they played the rams 2 fumbles recovered. When they played the Vikings i think it was one or two interceptions and one fumble recovered.

so a lot of the problem is defense, the offense is kind of on the right track, they just need some fine tuning, (ability to get their recivers open, the line to block for smith to get passes off and they're line needs to make holes for gore and robertson)

im a 49er fan too. i have been since i was about 5 years old. cowboys and 49ers have always been my 2 favorites. unless the cowboys play the 9ers, then i have to go with my 49ers.

The problem is York. The Raiders are undoubtebly more dysfucntional, but Al Davis spends and can scout. I can't imagine how they're better off without Barlow, Peterson, and Lloyd. I don't think their fortunes will change until there is a serious commitment to sign and retain quality FA's.
Its sad that the two bay-area teams, both historic franchises, have been so terrible lately.

I bet Byron Leftwich is going to the bay-area. Which team I am not sure. Probably Oakland.

That would break my heart more then their defensive and offensive line being replaced by 10 year olds. ;'(

Yeah its getting pretty crap. Its not that the O line is bad rather than the team lacks talent on defense. Sure they gave up 3 to the Vikes but Brad Johnson is starting to suck again anyways. If we don't beat the Lions I'll be concerned.

Wouldn't Garrard (sp??) leave instead? leftwich is the starter. Either way i think Leftwich and Garrard are equally good QB's and one will leave. I doubt either will go to the bay area.

Why you ask?

49ers blew 49 million on Alex Smith (so no way they'll let him go)
Raiders blew a bunch of cash on Aaron Brooks. (i dont think they'll let him go either, especially since he hasn't played much this year)

As far as the raiders go i cant tell if brooks or walter are any good because their O-line doesn't block enough for me to tell how good they are dropped back to pass. i know they're not good scramblers.

thats pretty stupid of the 49ers wanting to move when they're not doing any good. if the 49ers got into the playoffs or won a superbowl then they'd have much better luck at getting the city of SF's help with their statium plans.

Same goes for the Raiders. Al Davis wants to move the team to LA. When the raiders came back to oakland (from LA) davis has kept the TV market in the LA area for the raiders (because he had hopes of one day going back)

I dont think the raiders are in any place to argue about leaving oakland either, they're not any good right now. if they start doing good (same goes for SF) THEN they can talk about moving.

i dont think the 49ers will move. SF is such a landmark place out of most teams, like NY and the Jets and Giants. OR i should say, if they did move (further than Santa Clara) a new team would be in SF.

The reason that SF are useless atm is down to the fact that they're still paying lots of precious salry cap money to a certain Steve Young.

Just a little friendly banter, the 9ers'll probably lose the next six games they play... I've pretty much lost all faith in them. There are nights when i wake up screaming because I'll have nightmares of terrell owens being traded back to San Fran. Biggest douche ever.

That offense is pretty good. Frank Gore is a beast. Vernon Davis should become a huge playmaker. Alex Smith and WR may be their only weakish spots. And then there's the defense. ewww.

Yeah i'm a die hard 49er fan too and it pains me to watch to but now that they got Larry Allen back they should be ok plus i think their o line is under rated i mean look at frank gore hes one of the top rushers in the nfl right now which can't be done unless you're a.) a hella good back or b.) have a decsent offensive line, and it only shows how true of a fan you are to that team when you stick with them even though they suck. And oh yeah NitzGuy what happened to that whooping the LIons were gonna give to the niners the only teams worse than the lions right now are th raiders and cardinals so you kinda pulled a roy williams there talkin it up.

Maybe even the division.

I seen the stats...check this.

the 49ers have lost 5 out of the first 7 games and allowed an average of 34 points per game.

they've won the last 3 out of 4 games and allowed an average of 13 points a game.

they're making a turn around. those stats aren't including their loss today to the Saints.

I think they have a fair shot at the wildcard spot and it may be a big stretch but COULD get the division spot of Seattle. Seattle isn't playing all to well lately. if the 49ers can get it together and pull some wins i think they'll be in the wildcard spot. i dont expect them to get far in the playoffs IF they do get the wildcard spot but hey, if they're wildcards i'll have something to be happy about.

Alex Smith is playing a whole lot better than last year though. Frank Gore is establishing his running game. the defense needs a little help. Brandon Moore, Walt Harris, and Bryant Young can't do everything on their own. So far those three have been the big playmakers on defense (hence Walt harris getting 3 interceptions against Seattle).

in a few years they'll be back to their winning ways i think.

Who here thinks SF has a chance to make it into the playoffs?

I do...

They play Arizona at home this week which i believe they can win...

They play in Denver the following week. I think they have a chance...Denver hasn't been too good since the replacement of Jake Plummer.

Seattle plays San Diego this week and I forget who next week. (slipped my mind)

For SF to win their division Seattle needs to lose their 2 remaining games and SF needs to win their 2 remaining games.

I forgot what needs to happen for SF to be a wildcard. (maybe someone could shed some light on this)

anywho...

obviously you're a cowboy fan...

My second favorite team (next to the 49ers) is the cowboys.

(i dont mean to get off topic but) I love how the cowboys always play every thanksgiving (and sometimes, like this year) christmas, especially if they're playing at home. It makes the holidays great!

Dosen't it, i had the pleasure at being at this years Thanksgivings Day game.

I hope they start playing christmas every year, and make it a tradition just like thanksgiving.

The chance of this happening got worsened by Antonio Bryant getting suspended for 4 games for being an idiot (on 101, w00t)

Not to mention it was remote to begin with. Last time 49ers played in Denver it was the last game at Mile High and they got killed, plus the Broncos themselves are fighting for their playoff lives and though they're starting Cuttler, they have a guy named Champ Baily.

Oh plus the last week Seattle plays Tampa "piece of crap" Bay in Tampa, though it would be something if Tim Rattay could come up with a win and help the 49ers indirectly.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid of Antonio Bryant. A four game suspension would put him 2 games into the playoffs before he could return and realistically, the 49ers wont get that far if they do make the playoffs. If they made it in (divison leader or wildcard) i'd expect them to lose. but its okay, at least they'll be on SNF or MNF next year (like this year was mainly last years playoff teams) so yeah. anyway.

Tampa put up a good comeback against Chicago so maybe they can pull it out again. Tampa might shock the seahawks. I have no doubt that SD will crush seattle though. 49ers have about a 80%-85% chance of beating Arizona this week. I'd be pretty shocked if they didn't...

oh well. a miricle could happen and get SF in...
