Just recently got into this band and I LOVE them. So begin with the discussing.

They're great. I haven't heard With Oden On Our Side, but I have heard Fate of The Norns and Versus The World. Both great albums.

If any beginner drummers need to work on steadying their double bass work, definitely learn some Amon Amarth. I've been playing less than a year and I just went through and played nearly every beat on the first disc of Versus The World...it's great fun.

About the actual band though....hmmm...I like them, but they get repetitive after a little while of listening. They definitely have their standout songs and riffs though.

SWEET epic viking metal. Versus the World is by far their best but With Oden On Our Side is great as well.

Great band. Actually, I'm in the process of learning/recording Pursuit Of Vikings. It will be an easy, fun thing to do. I'm even going to attempt the vocals. They seem to be in a comfortable range. I have trouble with high screaming, and they are obviously low.

qft...:)

I like them, but it seems like they like to use alot of tremolo picked riffs...but, they're still sweet.

Their songs are fun and easy to cover. I even did a cover of "Beheading of a King."

Great band, and yeah sometimes the songs sound pretty similar and repetitive, but they have their own touch. Guitar covers are easy, and fun to play.

They've been on my list of "bands I've been meaning to check out" for about a year or two now. I should probably check them out.

Great band. Fate of Norns is my favorite, unlike everybody else.

Very good band. Amon Amarth is one of few bands that can tell a story in a song well.

I saw them with Children Of Bodom and Trivium. Both Amon Amarth and COB were amazing...Trivium was awful...

i just listen to them now :D

i don't know why but in autumn, Amon Amarth are perfect - i can't listen to them in summer.

These guys were one of the first extreme metal bands I heard of.

Funny I've never ever heard a song, though.

I love Amon Amarth. I prefer their older stuff though, I don't think that With Oden On Our Side was very good, I enjoyed the riffing but the vocals aren't as cool as they used to be.

Really good band. I downloaded their new album when it came out for the Daily Upload. But I accidently deleted it and never redownloaded it. So I bought it yesterday. I'll listen to it later. It's in a stack of cds I bought yesterday and have to listen to.

Nooo wai!

@ Adam, I wasn't aware that song had screams??? It's just growling basically.

I said I'm not so good at high screams, which is why I'm doing an AA cover, because they are mostly low vocals/growling whatever you want to call it. That stuff is easier for me than high screams, such as Children Of Bodom or Wintersun. Although I'm not a viking, so I'm not too sure how that cover will go...

Good band. Seen 'em live, too.

A bit repetitive at times, but that's okay.

Quite repetitive, but they have some magic that makes them stand out in a crowd. Their live DVD is freaking immense.

They're a great band; very consistent (maybe too consistent?). I really like their new one also.

Great band with some of my favorite vocals and lyrics. If Arson doesn't make you want to defend a village against barbarians and avenge friends deaths, screw you.

I have the same problem as everyone else, the repetition. I honestly cannot tell half of the songs apart until the chorus.

Tyr

Really good band. Even if they're repetitive, their songs have a high standard. I'd love to see them live.

Fate of Norns is a killer album. I really love An Ancient Sign of Coming Storm. fate of Norns is the only album of theirs I don't find all that repetative.

Shadows Within

Love this band, got to see them last year with COB and Trivium and I enjoyed AA more than the other 2...

Anone else seeing them on the European tour with Wintersun and Tyr?

It will be quite possibly the best concert ever.

It's their second best in my humble opinion. We're trying to cover Cry of the Black Birds with my band :)

Hell yeah! I got tickets for the London show, there's about ten of us metalheads heading up from Cardiff together I can't wait! I've been listening to "With Oden On Our Side" a bit the last couple of weeks and it's growing on me, the first couple of tracks I'm really digging right now.
I'm pretty interested to see Tyr as well, I've never really heard much of them so this show will be my first proper encounter with them, should be good from what I've heard
