My writing is mostly personal experiences, therefore there's always a personal character, for instance, me.

Some people don't like it, say Burton Wagner, but it's OK because he's awesome at writing and I'm not really. I tend to use a word I liek a lot at the moment, say harlot currently, and abuse it until a new word comes up and stuff.

I'm writing a mysoginous song at the moment.

I prefer to write about things that are fantasy. Not like dragons and ****, but just stuff that is far-fetched. I enjoy writing about brutal things, and then just adding on to the topic to make it so brutal that it can't get any more brutal.

While I am not a famous poet, like FA, I still share the arrogance and scoff

I write whatever I feel like writing and it usually turns out ****ty, then I post it here and people help me out and I make it better, but still not great...I think I just lack writing talent, oh well, theres always drums!

Drums ftw.

Me, I like the to write about fantasy, in the dragons and demons, heaven and hell kind of sense, fantasy in a strange cosmic way, fantasy in a simple yet slightly 'wrong' if you will way...Generally I like to write about thing's that aren't actually real. Or if they are, then make it so it doesn't seem like they're real etc you get the drift. In my early days I wrote about girls, but I find now that I cant do it anymore. Unless it's in a fantasy sense.

My older writing that I am currently bringing back was/is my experiences 100 times dramatized. I like to write vividly and like to put the reader at the scene. Emotions such as sadness and happiness don't usually appeal to me, I tend to be extremely sarcastic in my writing. Everything is a tragedy- there are some serious ones here and there. I also write pieces about events in other worlds that involve some kind of animal. It just depends what kind of mood I'm in.

P.S. FA isn't a famous poet.

Everyone who's actually given a "real" response has totally missed that point of this thread.
It's not about what you like to write about, it's so you can take a certain piece, provide a link to reference, and talk about it. To share the interpretation with everyone, what you meant by saying something. etc

Pretty much. Kind of a way to sell your piece. But I have no piece up to flog. Hence my posts.

Anyway, everyone else should whore away...

If you have to explain yourself you're missing the whole point that it is up to the reader to interpret your writing.

Congratulations to deathscreamingsheep for winning the thread.

Basically: if there is a huge need to explain your lyrics, they are too obscure.

Everyone just doesn't have a piece they think needs explaining.
