Circuitry for a brighter sound.

I'm modding up a cheap epiphone les paul junior (well, just using the body) and i'm just gonna have the pickup go straight to the jack socket. I want a nice trebley sound and i read somewhere that by putting in some kind of capacitator or something in the circuit i can make it more trebley. What kind of capacitator will i need and how do I wire it in?
