i have a tama rockstar 5-piece, and my friend, who has tama rockstars too, is letting me use some of his drums. one of the drums i took was a bass drum, but the thing is, his bass drum is more shallow than mine. does this matter? can i not use this as a double bass due to pitch difference?
thanks in advance~

If you have one bass drum sounding different than another, isn't it still double bass?

The whole point of having two bass drums is so the pitches are slightly different.

Otherwise all you would here is a constant rumbling!
Double bass pedals make different pitches, so why shouldn't two bass drums?

a lot of people have 2 of the same size bass drums, but mainly just for looks.
TS. 2 differents sizes is still double bass.
