YAY. Ok title says it all. Finally got it done today. Vents are 2 and 1/2 becuase thats the largest drill bit Collin had. Tell me what you think. I am still taking the red powder coat doen to the metal. I put a couple of the lugs on to show you what the colours are. And I will sand the inside of the shell and touch up the vents in time. Tell me what you think.

You need to paint the inside of the shell either red or silver.

I would say sand then, but if you coul JUST paint the inside (not the bit where you can see the plies (vent areas) that would look sick in black or red

Yeah, I think he's looking for an actual REALISTIC representation of it rather than...coloring it in with solid colors.

Those lugs look gorgeous! Are they brushed chrome or something? Or is it just the camera?

They were once powdercoated red IIRC.

Did you use my guide on how to cut the vents?

I just want to know to see if it actually worked!

You need to sand the inside of the shell, it's absolutly skank. And wouldn't painting the inside of the drum completly defy the point in having like, any decent wood in the shell, because the paint would just reflect all the sound...?

I don't know! Pete said I should. I aint going to now anyway. But yeh. I'm definately sanding the inside!!!!! I used a drill bit like this:

http://technologystudent.com/images6/dril9.gif
then just sanded its a little inside the vent. It worked fine other than the fact I have to respray the vent area. but other than that it was cool.

Next up drilling hats. Would my ZXT's sound better with holes?

Only to increase the air better and ya it'll change the sound, "better" is hard to say.

Yup! Unless it's intended to illict the particular response you'll get.

Well, I'll sand it tomorow and try to get the hardware done asap. What would be easiest way not to get paint in the holes? tape?

Yeah masking tape helps. Or you can use painters tape.

I know for little holes people would but straws in them so maybe for a bigger hole maybe just a rubber tube of some sort.Just a thought.
