I'm getting a new snare stand today at guitar center. My main is a picollo(I don't know if that will make a difference.) Price range is 50-100$ and its for drumset.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I keep my aux snare on a coffee table to the left of me. The table is perfect height, gives me the sound I want, and keeps the snare in one place. All the functions of an expensive snare stand for nothing. It works.
EDIT: I thought you were talking about your aux snare, sorry...

It's all god
Why do you have to bring God into this? Do you think you have to talk about God for us to believe you?
You can't say God around here (where I live). Stuff like that happens.
Theres a bunch of churches and the people that stand at the front and talk to everyone around here.

Doesn't it make it sound a tid bit goofed up?

but if it works it works........most of the pressure of a snare stand is coming downwards.....stability is hardly ever an issue for me until I start using single braced and flat based snare stands.
If the adjustability and stability works for you , why do you need a top line snare stand?

Insurance...
You hope it doesn't break, or something doesn't happen. But cheaper stands have issues, that's why they are cheaper.
Kick pedal and snare stand are the 2 things you simply can not have dorp out on you, they are gig ender's. Pretty much anythign else could fail, and be worked around. Those 2, stop the show.

True, but aside form it falling down, it'll still be useful if you loose the foot function. But yes, that also is a very important piece.

No. It's a shty stock snare that I've tuned to epic proportions to create a satisfying, yet odd, pop. I've screwed around with the settings and I really like the sound I'm getting from it.

If your pedal breaks, just kick your drum. Thats why they're called kick drums. I read in modern drummer bellson( i think, not 100%) did it. Just prey you have shoes on.
