i saw a teaser for this film on tv where Kyle had "tenac" as a birth mark on his *** and Jack had "ious d" as a birthmark on his, and thats apparently how the band name was made.

Looks really stupid. Tenacious D gets on my nerves and although Jack Black is usually really funny, the trailer just looked incredibly stupid. I didn't even crack a smile at any of the gags they showed in it and previews are supposed to show the best of a movie. Ugh.

i've seen the previews for it three or four times in theaters. no one laughed a single time, at any scene. that's basically what i feel about it. they've done some funny stuff; but i'm getting tired of their gimmick.

I didn't think the trailers were funny at all. However, I'm a big D fan and saw the movie a few days ago. It's probably the funniest movie I've seen this year. (i can't quite decide if it was better than Borat) Regardless, I'd think you have to be a fairly big D fan to really find the movie funny and you'd probably have to have been following them for a little while. Someone who hasn't been watching/listening them for a while probably wouldn't find it as funny, because they wouldn't truly understand the bands ego and their style of humor.
