Daily Upload - November

[TheBigMachine]

If you're new to the mailing list concept, here's how it works:
Every day or so an email will be sent out to everyone on the list. Our goal is to include 5 albums per day. In the email will be links to albums that have been uploaded by you, your fellow MXers, and myself. We will all have the benefit of hearing bands we might never have been exposed to. In addition you may find that album you've been searching for forever or find something you'd been meaning to check out.

If you would like to be on the mailing list, post your email address and then contribute to the discussion as you receive the emails. Posting ONLY your e-mail address without leaving a comment will NOT be tolerated. It's not hard to say "Thank you" or something else along those lines, but do NOT just put down your e-mail address, or you may be passed over.

This is a forum after all, so please post comments and discuss the music that you have downloaded. If you never post in the thread I may remove you from the list. DO NOT come in the thread complaining that you aren't getting the emails anymore if you've been sent links for all these albums and haven't bothered to post anything!

Yousendit has the best download speeds but the links expire after 100 downloads.

If you upload something for the mailing list, it would be helpful if you'd please include a description of what you've uploaded as well as the links. Reviews and links to band websites are great to go with an album. Please at least try to include the genre!

Some of the uploads may be in .rar format. To unzip these, download the RAR client, which can be found here (http://www.rarlab.com/).

I'd prefer to send out a daily edition, except on weekends, where I'll just send out a weekend edition on Sunday night, as I'm never usually here on weekends.

I don't have a set number of albums I wish to send out, I'll just send out whatever I get. 5 is the maximum per day, though.

Notes

It's unconfirmed, but I might be out of town this month. I know I said I'd be away until the fifth, but I got my dates mixed up. First issue will be sent out the same time as this thread is being posted, tomorrow afternoon(my time).

If it so happens that I dont receive any uploads, Ill probably send out an email with one or two of mine uploaded links, just for the sake of it. These issues will be late however.

Weekends, are shady at best. If Im especially bored, it's quite possible that I upload like 10 albums each day and send them out, or you could even get nothing. I'll try my steady best to get at least 5 albums out over the two days, so keep sending them in over weekends...

Rock and Metal has a lot more people in than us. The way we do it now is fine, especially since you have to consider you are getting these albums for free.

I just uploaded the self-titled album by a band called Attack in Black. You might enjoy them if you like Rise Against, Refused, Strike Anywhere, The Bronx, etc. Here is their myspace page if your at all interested (http://www.myspace.com/attackinblack ), although the songs that are up there now are a little different from the older album I uploaded (the ones on the website are a little more 'pop-punkish', have better quality, and are generally slower than those from their S/T, but great anyway.

Give them a chance, hope everyone enjoys! These guys also just finished touring Western Canada and are now on the East Coast; if you dig there stuff, go check them out. They are a great band and even better bunch of guys.

When they were dropped by Columbia, they decided to change the tracklisting slightly, and remove 2 songs and replace them with 3 new songs. I guess this is one of the new songs.

I haven't listened to the unmastered version in ages actually. Might have to give it a spin sometime.

It's definitely a new step for them. Reminds me of how different The Get Up Kids' On A Wire was to anything they had done before. The new Ataris album is going to be critisized so much however good the mastered version sounds.

People are going to sites like foropunk and whatever the hell that encmetal kid gave and there's tons of already uploaded things but when you get the link it's expired or deleted by request so you can't download them but the people are too dumb to check if it still works so they just send out a bunch of dead links.

maybe but you can just do the tracklisting yourself, its all usually soughted anyway and id rather have a foropunk link than none at all.

i just use forums which havent banned people from putting links on the site. best way to get obscure stuff.
