getting paid $120 bucks for the gig. Well Lunacy in One got $120, I got $40.
So the question is, what the most you've been paid for a gig and what are someother things that make a gig better.
Getting laid also helps. lol.

That's sweet dude.
I remember getting paid 50$ for a park gig once. Little did I know it was 50$ for the whole band, not individually.

Clown, always assume that it is going to be for the entire band.
Also, I am not sure what is the highest I have ever been paid for playing a gig. My bands have received different amounts of money everytime, so I can't recall off the top of my head.

We'll when we auditioned for it, they were saying 50$ per member.
That's why I thought i'd be 50$ richer, not 16.5$

They probably meant to say "band" instead of "member."
Were there other bands that played the gig? I think they said "member" just to mislead you so that you would play the gig. :p

We were by far the Best act there....
I broke my E string halfway through the set, thank god for 5 strings.

I've never played a gig, so I've never been paid for playing one. But something about being payed to play a gig, when your just simply trying to get your name out, just doesnt seem right. Not that i wouldnt accept the money... It just seems to busenissy.

Um, played a Blues Brothers gig. Made £2,000. Bought cool PA/monitors and stuff. £5 a ticket, 400 people. 8 band members.

I guess. You are providing a service and bringing in money to the club. This place that we played at, we've played 4 or 5 times. They have a badass sound and PA system and we had never gotten payed there. Last time we played, we got payed 60 bucks, this time 120. I love this place. lol.

In my old band, the most we got paid for a gig was $200 for the entire band. Wasn't too bad because it worked out to be $50 each. That's just a bonus though, you don't need to pay me to play.

highest = $105, i think
but all money from shows goes to the "band fund account." we plan to use it for things like studio time or a PA system.
My band played Wed nights for $400. Made a deal with a sponsor. The bar paid 200, sponsor (Budwiser) paid their 200. We got the gig last September all the way up until this July. Thats how I was able to afford all my gear.

the most we've been paid for a gig is $115 if i recall correctly.
though i think its stupid to split gig money up individually especially if its such a small and pointless amount. it gets put into a bank account.
Polyamarous
10-27-2006, 07:34 AM
For a band it was just shy of £200. But all of that money goes into a band-bank-account, for things like bigger amps, PAs and recording sessions and such.

The most I've been paid personally was $150AUD for playing at a New Years eve party. Well worth not going out with my friends.

Last gig I played was a busking festival. My singer/band leader pays me and the drummer $100AUD per gig standard, plus we got $62 thrown into our busking bucket, then we ended up winning our section and got a $250 cheque. So we went and got KFC. aha.

the most my band got paid was like 100 pounds.. all the money we make goes into a band account for things like the website, stickers, blank cds, stamps, ink cartridges and petrol.

around £100 is the most i as a member have ever been paid, but the band on a whole in my main band we have gotten just over 600 between 7 of us (including the guy who got us the gig) and we managed to get a free crate of stella thrown in too.

When I'm out with my main band, we usually get ~1350$ (we get paid in danish money). We're six band members, so that's about 225$ for me.

£15 GET IN!!! i think that went on petrol money or band room rent, as previously stated we put all our earnings as a band straight back into it, were currently a strictly non profit organisation :-p

just over $100. and we had a band fund, so everything we earned went towards recording funds and such. so whenever we got paid good amounts, it was a lot more productive for us than most bands. i recommend it to any band.

Retrovertigo: Just another gig...
Lowsound: No man, we're not signed yet. Our album is being printed right now, so we'll start sending out the promo packs once the album's back in large quantity. I'm playing in 3 bands that have signing potential (and 2 that don't  ), so I'm not really pushing hard for any one of those bands to get signed just yet. I need to see where I want to focus my attention first.

Yeah, that was a previous band. We were in negotiations for a rather high dollar deal (high dollar considering it was the first deal we were pursuing after swimming through a sea of horrible deals). That band broke up before we could get everything finalized. Not a biggie, it wouldn't have worked out anyway. That band had horrible internal chemistry.
