Is the boss rc-2 good for practicing and live usage? What are the overall differences between both pedals?
I want to get a loop pedal but i can't decide between these two... the rc-2 is prettier and more cheap, but it seems to have more features condensed into just one button, which may turn it into a difficult pedal to use live.
Is there any other loop pedal besides these that you think i should have a look? I'm really short on cash and don't want to go above the 250euro.
Also, i will use it with a bass pod xt. Is it possible to loop using different effects? And now for the dumb question... what can i do to still listen to the loops when i don't use an amp and use instead the podxt w/ headphones? It's for the late nights! Like now!

The RC2 is the regular pedal sized version, right?
I think that just came out...But i'd assume that the RC-2 would be harder to control due to there being only one pedal. I'd go for the XL.

Put your pod before the looper in the chain. Then you can loop with different effects easily. The pedal will loop whatever you put into it, whether clean bass, bass with effects, voice, keyboard, guitar.. you get the idea.
You should be able to listen to it with headphones. If you have the looper before the pod, definetely. If you have the pod before the looper I'm not 100% sure, but every pedal I've ever used has worked with headphones. Just plug your headphones into the pedal output.

I've got the RC-50, which is the fancier model of the RC-20XL, and to answer the general questions, you can definitely loop effects (I do it all the time). As for the headphones, I don't believe the RC-2 has a headphone jack on it, but the RC-20XL should, in which you plug your headphones into that.
Good call on getting a looper, by the way. They're tons of fun.

The RC-20XL doesn't work as a headphone amp, as far as I know.

Lots of pedals don't have a designated "headphone jack", but you can plug headphones into the output with an adapter and it will work.
Some pedals (most Boss pedals) have a significant drop in volume, though.

I know most don't, but I figured the RC-20XL was big enough. Ah well. :)
