saw them friday night....no words can describe..they played BSSM i was buggin out...perfect mix of new and okd songs....for those of you have have been to heaven...discuss the amazing concerts...i think our setlist was (not necesarily in the order i present them but i'll do my best)
intro - funky jam
cant stop
dani california
scar tissue
me and my friends
fortune faded
readymade w/ album solo by frusciante - amazing
charlie
blood sugar sex magic w/ cool drum intro
throw away your television w/ bass solo intro from flea (amazing)
john frusciante solo cover piece - i think it was a simon and garfunkle song
snow
don't forget me
tell me baby
right on time with same intro as slane castle
californication with amazing intro
stadium arcadium
by the way with improv flea solo
encore - give it away
RHCP are gods...they improvise on every song while still keeping it feeling original...i have waied my life to see them it made me so happy - i dont think i'll be able to get mad for a few weeks...discuss

Haha, yes! I saw them last month and they totally blew my mind. The set list was similar, though not entirely the same.
They didn't play Under The Bridge as part of the encore, though? Shocking. Really shocking.
And the JF piece is "Emily' by Simon and Garfunkle. :)

That was pretty much the same as when I saw them. It was the best concert ever, heaven. I do remember they played Around The World with that nice flea solo before the song actually starts. I do agree, they pretty much improvise every song while keeping enough of it the same so you still know what is going on. They are true gods.

i want to see them very badly as well but i cant >.< !!!! The Mars Volta's new CD is amazing, and every bit as good Deloused , but i do feel when they perform live they should stick to the actual song instead of jamming. it seems they only play one or two recognizable songs, then just jam...thats cool and all but when u pay good money to see them they better play take the veil and roulette dares ^_^ . I have an old video of when one of my friends went to go see them back in the 90's...its very very sweet with flea doing a little improv to under the bridge.

i would have liked to have seen chilis on the last tour they did in the uk.. ive seen them three times.. on the californication tour, the by the way tour and at hyde park.. hyde park was poor in my opinion.. it contained a lot of songs i wasnt really into and the sound was a bit gash... james brown was awesome..
seeing chilis play sir psycho sexy live is one of my best music moments
i think the best band ive seen live is either muse or lightning bolt though.

I've seen them twice! :D!
Cardiff 2004! And Earl's Court July 17th 06!
Was so goooooood man!! Absolutely insane! I got to the front row at both! Was very scary though, utnill the show actually began :D
They played Nobody Weird Like Me at the show I went too :D! I wanted them to play that so much but I always thought it would eb a long shot, so you can imagine my utter suprise when the bass intro began :O! I loved every second of it! And John sang How Deep Is your Love at the show I went too! Was beautiful! I know he sang Untitled #3 off of his Niandra Lades album in Portland though! Shame I never got to see that but it was still incredible!!

Yes, Anthony is practically pornographic.
They didn't play Throw Away Your Televison at mine., but Chad had a great solo.
the reason TMV seem loose and out of control is they have a last minute drummer change (whether temporary/permanent still to be announced) so they only taught him vicera eyes and rapid fire tollbooth in 3 days, then the rest of their time theyve jammed.
when i saw them last month they were on the money

When I saw them, the reason they sucked is because the sound levels were atrocious. You couldn't tell one instrument from another and Cedric's voice was just a distorted wail.

That is the same problem I had with them. I couldn't tell any of the vocals apart from a guitar solo. It was sad really.

I agree, they're too busy-sounding to be a very good live band anyway. Also, they were rather boring this time around, as the stage was too crowded for any kind of movement.

I think I might win
Saw them at the San Diego Sports Arena
Saw them at the Oakland Arena (8 hour drive, but I went up with friends to check out UC Berkeley)
Saw them at the Los Angeles Forum
Mars Volta... alright each time. Drunk girl next to me at the Sports Arena show was booing the whole time, but it was a pretty good show (I'm not really a fan)
Peppers were great, best show was the Forum without a doubt, because I actually went with friends (San Diego I went with one buddy, San Fran went with "school buddies")
But in LA the group next to us thought that Flea played guitar :(!

What? That's no excuse. Watch any Frank Zappa concert DVD, busy sounding bands can still rock it live. Baby Snakes is a good one.
On TMV, my mind isn't completely made up yet. I liked most of the stuff off their first CD, but I don't think they have enough compositional skills to write 20 minute songs that are musically interesting. It seems like they used the success of their first CD to give them an opportunity to get really stoned and "experiment." I like dissonance and all, but if it isn't used in a way that makes any sense, it just sounds bad, IMO.
Bear in mind that I love free jazz and post-modern composing, so it's not a matter of it being "too weird" for me.
Still haven't seen the Chilies yet, but I'd love to if I didn't have to pay more than 50 bucks for a ticket.

i chose the peppers! and im glad i did. amazingly awsome show.
i just saw atreyu this summer at ozzfest, they were rlly good but they dont compare to RHCP imo.
there was only one song i wanted to hear that i didnt, and im kinda not suprised. i had my fingers crossed as john played his solo song that they'd play porcelian right after that but they didn't. oh well nothing could have ruined that show. not even the jiz soaked floor at the wacovia center. seriosly i had to tap my feet the whole show just so i would be permitately stuck.
