I thought you wanted a six? What do you have now?
Don't even consider buying a Squirer Affinity Series bass. Those are the worst Squiers.

Way to make it count.^
I'd go for the Yamaha.

If you already have a bass, I wouldn't bother with any of them. They're not likely much, if any, of a step up from what you have now.
Just bank the $260 and put it toward something nicer.

RBX170 or GSR200.
I am biased, though, and would go with the GSR200.
Threadstarter, what are you playing on at the moment?

You shouldn't buy another beginner bass, as there isn't much point. You should save up some more money and get a better bass if you really want something new.

Those are all beginner basses too, eh?
There's really no sense in having 2 beginner basses. Keep the money and save up some more and get a decent bass for your second one.
Edit: Damnit, Spiff! Stop stealing words from my head.

if you want a 6 string save up for one, why do you need another 4 string

I second the notion that both Ben and Spiff put forth!
There really isn't a point to move from beginner bass to beginner bass unless you are thrashing about onstage, so your bass is destroyed every other show. Otherwise, save that damn money!

Yamaha, Ibanez and OLP are all very solid. You can't go wrong with those three.
Edit: Oh, I thought he was a beginner. Yah, no point getting a second beginner bass, dude.

All the more reason to save and not blow your money on another beginner bass.

That doesn't mean anything. It is called "saving." It does marvelous things.
EDIT: Ben beat me. :(

Here's something to learn early on: MF reviews are worthless. People can review a bass without buying it and can just prattle on hwoever they wish.
The general consensus about Rogue basses is that they aren't worth your time or money.
Why are you so hell bent on getting a new bass right now?

I didn't even buy a new bass for a year and a half, and even that bass--which is a Shecter AB-5--was purchased for 50$ at a show. It was until this year that I finally bought a nice bass, brand new. I started nearly four years ago, threadstarter.
You don't need a new bass just because you have some money to burn. I have done things like that before, and--let me tell you--I regretted spending the money later on down the road.
You might as well just save up.

Don't be an asshole. The point is that if you got like an OLP it would be an improvement over your Stagg (OLPs rock by the way), but it's still an entry-level bass. It makes more sense to save up until you can get a bass that is significantly better than the one you have now.

I also secound the point in buying another bass. Get a new amp if don't have a good one already. I have a Squier but play through an $1100 rig its just what i find more worthwhile.

I have a better idea.
Pick any of the basses that you listed and go waste your money on it. I fully support this idea.

Me too.
You can never have enough crappy basses.
i think something in the 400-600$ price range is more what you wanna go for, its not worth it to buy 2 beginner basses, if your short on money, buy something good so you wont have to upgrade so much. thats what i did with guitar, i went from a squier, to an 800$ esp and i couldnt be happier and i wont have to upgrade for years, and even then i probably wont because i love it more than anything lol. i guess my point is, buy something that will last you a long time instead of a bunch of little things. would you rather have a musicman rather than about 13 squiers?

if this whole thread was about your first bass, then i'd reccomend a yamaha rbx170 . . .
but it's not, so just don't buy anything and simply deposit your money in the bank . . . and try to get some interest too :thumb: . . .

i wouldn't mind having the squiers . . . just so i could smash each and everyone of them after gigs  . . .

Just save up, sure you might have to wait some months but then you can get an instrument you will really like, rather than one you like a little better than the one you have.
Sometimes you just need a little patience.

get a job, keep saving. patience is a virtue. just because you are 15, doesn't mean you can't earn money. i was 14 when i got a summer job to pay for my stingray.

Its always funny when people used their age and lack of a job for an excuse for having a ****ty budget. Just get a job and save.

iv been playing nearly 5 years, and im still on my starter bass (encore somthing somthing) im getting a new one in november, but my point is, im glad i waited this long so i can actually decide with alot better judgment what bass i actually move onto, plus i can afford somthing as good as a warwick or a musicman if i want, cos i didnt waste my money,
if you want to improve your sound, i think a better amp is the best option when you have a starter bass,

I say you should save up for a better bass but, if you absolutely need a new bass now, the OLP is the best bass on that list, in my opinion.
I highly reccomend saving up for one, though.
