Hey guys! Got bored yesterday, and while I was playing certain stuff, my sticks kept hitting together, so...I came up with a new setup, trying to get my hihats as far infront of my snare as possible, with it still being comfortable with the feet. I also moved my ride a lot, check it out, and please comment! This will hopefully be joined by a new ride in 2 weeks time!!!

That kit just looks warm, haha. That is definately one of my fav kits of this forum. The set up looks confusing to me, but whatever works!

Thats the thing, it kinda works, I wanna be able to try it with a remote bass and remote hihat etc, but I cant, without buying them :(

ha, a remote bass?

EDIT: BTW, how's that Coated EMAD sound?

Those are some amazing looking drums, but I dont like the contrast between the 'natural' look of the drums, and the rack. Makes the rack look out of place, IMO.

Lovely looking things though.

Wow amazing kit, how are the wood hoops? Why not on the snare aswell?

Really nice setup, get a remote hi-hat stand!

hey

i wouldnt put a wood hoop on a snare, rim shots might do some damage

Do you play that kit? The heads don't even look used! Sweet kit though.:)

EFF!

I love this kit.

I wanna rimshot one of those warm *** floor toms so bad!

Is that a Stagg bell? How is it, and how much was it?

Akira Jimbo seems to manage fine...
The Yamaha Wood hoops can survive pretty much anything you can throw at them, barring Aheads.

Seems like an interesting setup you've got there pete, that ride positioning could really open up some interesting stickings.

It needs more on the left though, maybe bring one of those floors over to the other side?

I never get bored of seeing that set. It also looks pretty comfy in that set up.

I reckon i'd probably find that tom hard to hit easily/consistently.

And i also want a remote hi-hat, as my main, in front of me.

ETP2 had a setup like that.

You dont need a rack

What are the advantages/disadvantages of that thing you prop your kick up with? Did you choose it deliberatley over legs or was it just easier to make? Also, I really like that setup, looks very comfortable.

Ah, nice sawblade also. Inspired by me at all? Haha, probably not.

what you need, is a non-ugly carpet.

chippy, billdrum, and pete have some of my favorite sets on this forum, hands down.

Drumguy: Remote bass...basically the left hand part of a double pedal used as your main, and the t'other part (on the drum) has no beater or footplate. The Coated EMAD sounds AMAZING!!!

Everyone: The heads look unused from those andlges, but they do have scratches on them . I got that snare batter almost 2 weeks ago, if that was an amb it would have chips and stuff by now, it's all about G1s;)

Plan B.: Yes, stagg black metal Ice bvell (about 6 1/4") Set me back a grand £12 new

Razor: Tried it before with the floor tom to the left, didn't like it. Ideal setup is 14 in front of me with the 12 and 16 either side. (this would need a remote bass and hihat!

Zildjian: I dont need a rack, I already have one ;) I got the rack to support the drums extreme weight, seriously, they weigh ****loads!

TTTSNB: Kinda inspired by you, waiting on my dad to come up with a way of blunting a Tungsten Carbide tipped 12"er ;)

New Metman: The chinese is a 16" Pro Sonix by SAbian, sounds amazing, best one the had in the shop (they had high end zildjians and loads of stuff)

And, Thanks to everyone for the positive comments (new carpet? chippiy?) especially goosefilms ;)

^ Ah cool, thanks man. Many other drummers have used sawblades before me. You don't need to worry about blunting the sawblade, as the chances of actually cutting yourself on it are pretty small (Just don't try and choke it...haha, this is kind of an unplesant sound anyway)

Parradiddle Pete
10-23-2006, 05:38 AM
The sawblade has just bitten the dust, due to my purchase of a red jam block by LP, I prefer that to the sawblade, and i dont have anything to mount them oth with.

I have a remote bass :D

Parradiddle Pete
10-23-2006, 07:07 AM
Thats coz ur the coolest kid on the block ;) Is it just a double pedal an you only use one part of it? I'd do that but, i reckon it would be hella expensive, would I be able to play the same stuff as i play on single? Or are theslave pedals less responsive?

Drum Phil
10-23-2006, 07:10 AM
Just a double pedal.

I cant see any problems if you get a decent pedal. Only DW do remote bass pedals AFAIK.

omg angled ride! i doubt you're crashing it much. i do likewise, but i like to have the option.

to ts: you should make make a rack out of wood. DO IT.

Interesting and pretty unique setup, my favorite part of it is definately the kit itself. That is beautiful man.

I wouldnt be crashing it much anyway...seeing as how it's a K heavy ride lol.

But thats an old pic and the setup has since changed.

Pete did himself, along with the help of his father. He even made the lugs!

looks difficult to reach the first tom with your left hand by itself comfortably.

Parradiddle Pete
10-26-2006, 03:16 PM
It isn't that hard, but I cant get it low enough really, but i loove the setup, has its drawbacks, like playing my tom instead of the ride :p

I might try to borrow a double bass pedal, I dont know if it would be responsive enough for me, I use a lot of fast single bass
