I was reading up on them last night. Anyone here have some or played on them?
The site says they only come in 18",20" multi cymbals, 24" ride and hats.
Sounds kind of odd. Anyway, are they obsolete and more of a collectors thing, or do people still use them(old ones or re-issue)?
The samples sounded cool, but you never know with those.

www.cymbalholic.com - they've got more of a vintage vibe, but the multi's are great for just about everything really, and that 24" ride is a serious beast.

Sick rock cymbals, just too expensive.
Think classic rock/Bonham.

Nice, thanks!
I always wanted to use that site but gave up after they were down for a really long time.:)

The 18" is great, but i dunno bout bonham- he used the 2oo2's. the GB's are a little more subtle.

He used the Giant Beats until '72 (at least, that's what wikipedia says)

You figure though that anyone can enter anything they want on wikipedia and people will take it for truth, not to argue, but just an FYI

That argument is pathetic, though. For every person who wants to mess with popular articles (such as Bonham's, I'm sure) there will be 20 people who would fix it. Plus there's a discussion page for every article that discusses and goes over changes. Librarians and teachers make it for some pile of biased information, but really, it isn't. If you happened to read an article 5 seconds after some idiot changes it, then yeah you're screwed. But it likely ain't gonna happen.

Giant Beats are lovely cymbals IMO. I may be adding one into my kit at some point.

Paiste always drops its best lines like the Formula 602's
hmmm they picked up a cymbal line only because bonham used them. Hardly innovative

Giant beats are really nice. That 24" ride is really tempting

Yeah I tried some out the other day and now I really want some.
The 15" hats, 18" crash and 24" ride I want for my setup, £550 for that setup, i'll probably get that and add to it when i get my next set.

I wasn't arguing, I was simply stating a fact that wikipedia isn't always correct, that's all

well, I didn't mean you were arguing, I just said that that's a common argument that 'educators' use a lot.
